First Offshore Aquaculture Development Green Lighted

The Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Fisheries has approved Norway’s first development concession enabling Ocean Farming AS, supported by Kongsberg Maritime AS, to build the world’s first automated ‘exposed’ aquaculture facility. Situated outside of Trondheim, this new facility introduces a paradigm shift in salmon farming now, and other fish types in the future and is a significant step in Norway’s efforts to deliver technical solutions to address the impending global food gap challenge.

Kongsberg Contracted to Support FLNG Conversion

Keppel Shipyard in Singapore and Black & Veatch in the U.S. have awarded Kongsberg Maritime an order for the delivery of an electrical package and safety and automation system for Golar LNG’s conversion of the ex-LNG Carrier Golar Hilli to an FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas production unit). Kongsberg Technology for Johan Sverdrup Field

Kongsberg Maritime has been awarded a call-off order for delivery of the Safety and Automation System (SAS), Life Cycle Simulator and SAS Information Management System for the four platforms on the Johan Sverdrup field centre. The order is based on the Project Specific Agreement for the Johan Sverdrup SAS awarded to Kongsberg Maritime in May 2014 and contains extensive hardware, software and system engineering competence delivery. Yuganskneftegaz Stimulates Construction of Wells at Priobskoye

Rosneft subsidiary Yuganskneftegaz officially opened two new oil and gas production units at the Priobskoye field, oil and gas production unit–22 and oil and gas production unit–23. The creation of new production units in Yuganskneftegaz is caused by intensive commissioning of producing wells after drilling, construction of multiple well platforms and infrastructure facilities. It is planned to complete 535 new wells at the Priobskoye Field during 2014, which will increase oil output by over 100 thousand tons. Production gain is provided not only by increased number of producing wells. The enterprise also applies new technologies of mechanized extraction.

RAO/CIS Offshore

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS, the Register) is going to participate in the International Conference on Development of Oil-and-Gas Resources of the Russian Arctic and CIS Continental Shelf (RAO/CIS Offshore). The event will take place at the LenExpo Congress Halls, St Petersburg, September 10-13, 2013. Vladimir Evenko, Head of RS Classification and Development Directorate will act as a co-chairman of the roundtable "Rules and Regulations Lying at the Base of Shelf Hydrocarbon Resources Exploration." Within the framework of the roundtable "Key Problems of Pipe System Design, Construction and Operation on the Arctic Shelf" the register experts will share the experience of RS Rules application to materials and products developed for subsea pipe lines.

Lloyd's Register to support Maersk FPSO

Lloyd’s Register EMEA has been awarded the global contract to provide Maersk FPSOs with a comprehensive suite of technical services to assure the reliable operation of its fleet of floating oil and gas production units which serves some of the world's biggest offshore fields. The multi-year agreement will require the combined expertise of the energy and marine teams at Lloyd's Register to deliver a suite of technical services -- including integrity and inspection management, classification, verification and engineering support -- to help ensure safe and sustainable operations. There is an option to extend beyond the original contract period.
