16,000 Extra Workers Needed in UK’s Offshore Wind Sector by 2030

A new labor forecasting tool (LFT) is predicting around 16,000 additional workers could be needed in the UK’s offshore wind industry by 2030, and 12,000 extra workers will be needed specifically for carbon capture and hydrogen projects by 2027. Australia Job Seekers Meet Employers at AOG Perth Conference

The organizers of the Oil & Gas Exhibition & Conference (AOG) say that the demand for labour is so high that by 2018 the oil and gas workforce is expected to increase by 57 percent, according to the Australian Workforce and Productivity Agency. On 21, February 2014 over 1000 graduates and tertiary students meet with major employers at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre  to learn about job opportunities, graduate programs and vacation work available in the oil and gas sector.

Mintra Lands Training Management Contract with EnQuest

Mintra Training Portal Limited, a provider of learning and competency solutions for the oil and gas industry has secured a contract to deliver training management services to EnQuest’s U.K. employees. The three year deal will see Mintra deliver practical, e-learning and classroom training for over 200 industry-critical courses to the operator’s onshore and offshore workforce across the U.K. Continental Shelf. Managing director Peter Conner said, “We deliver over 500,000 industry courses for up to 300 oil and gas companies every year.

The winners of OPITO’s annual global oil and gas workforce safety awards have been announced in the presence of Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, the Minister of Energy for the United Arad Emirates. SBM and MSTS/Falck Safety Services Malaysia were yesterday (Tuesday, November 19) named Employer of the Year and Training Provider of the Year respectively at the OPITO Safety and Competency Conference in Abu Dhabi. The global annual awards recognizes companies that best demonstrate their commitment to building a safe and competent workforce through OPITO standards and are presented at the OSCC.
