Yinson's FPSO Contract in Nigeria Ends after 16 Years as Client Opts to Buy the Floater
The Malaysian FPSO leasing company Yinson has completed the 16-year contract for FPSO Adoon in Nigeria as the client Addax decided to buy the FPSO.The contract for the FPSO which has been operating at Block OML 123 offshore Nigeria, had an original term of 8 years until 2014, with the option to extend by up to 8 more years until 2022. The contract was further extended by client Addax through consecutive monthly extensions until January 2023. Addax exercised its contractual option to purchase FPSO Adoon at the end of the contract period and the sale was completed on January 11, 2023.
Landmark Steam Turbine for FPSO
One of the 27 MW steam turbine driven generator sets delivered to Fred. Olsen Production. Fred. Olsen Production ASA has chosen UK engineering company Peter Brotherhood Ltd to supply two condensing steam turbine driven generator sets for the Knock Allan FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading) vessel for the Olowi field off the coast of Gabon. The turbines are the world's most powerful to be installed on an FPSO vessel. Each of the two 27 MW sets consists of a turbine, gearbox and generator, all mounted on a common bedplate which incorporates the oil system.
