Braemar Technical Services announced that Bureau Veritas (BV) has issued a General Design Approval for the FSP Type B LNG Containment System (FSP). Starting with the General Dynamics NASSCO-patented tank design, for which the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and Lloyd’s Register had issued Approval in Principle (AiP) several years prior, Braemar engineered a new and improved containment system that meets the demands of LNG storage in marine, offshore and onshore applications.

Aberdeen-based subsea cable and connector specialist Hydro Group, has expanded its premises by investing £2 million in a new 13,700 sq ft bespoke facility, set to open in spring 2016. The company currently occupies a 45,500 sq ft facility at the Aberdeen Energy Park, purchasing the additional 0.63 acres of development land from Buccleuch Property and Moorfield Group (Buccmoor LP) to enable it to expand operations and develop a brand new workshop with mezzanine deck. Doug Whyte, Hydro Group Managing Director, said: “The new facility and additional space was required in order to diversify and develop our business. DBR Generatorsets is on course to complete construction of a gas engine driven generator set for GDF SUEZ E&P Nederland B.V. in time for installation on the E17a-A platform at the end of the year. Due to space restrictions on the existing platform, DBR is fabricating a custom engineered generator set. “We are using a modified design to deal with the lack of space on the platform,” said DBR Sales Manager Henri Hafkamp. At their in-house production facilities, DBR is engineering this generator set within a single instead of the usual double frame due to the limited space involved.

Enviro Voraxial Technology, Inc. (OTCBB: EVTN) announced on March 5 that the company has received an order from Twin Filter, a marketing partner of EVTN and a global provider of filtration equipment and services. The purchase order calls for the delivery of a Voraxial(R) Separator to the marine environmental subsidiary of a large oil company. The Voraxial Separator will be configured to perform simultaneous bulk separation of oil, water and sand from large volumes of contaminated water collected from various maritime sources, including ships. The installation of the Voraxial will improve the customer's overall wastewater system while significantly reducing its operating costs.
