V.Group Partners with Ocean Technologies Group

Ship management and marine support services provider V.Group and maritime learning and operational technologies company Ocean Technologies Group have partnered to offer e-learning to V.Group personnel and customers.Starting later this year, V.Group will leverage on Ocean Technologies Group’s digital platforms to provide integrated e-learning solutions to V.Group’s customers. The new solutions will include bespoke V.Group content, technologies in micro-learning, adaptive and gamified learning and virtual reality training developed by Ocean Technologies Group.As part of the cooperative agreement, the Marlins Maritime English assessment product and Marlins global ‘Approved Test Center’ scheme will be transferred to Ocean Technologies Group and become part of its growing list of offerings.

LR Awards Wärtsilä Cyber Certification

Lloyd’s Register (LR) has awarded Wärtsilä system-level cyber certification for its network architecture relating to Wärtsilä’s integrated main and auxiliary machinery. The LR’s ShipRight SAFE AL2 certification, which is with Wärtsilä’s Data Collection Unit (WDCU), gives Approval-in-Principle (AiP) for the entire Wärtsilä integrated system network, rather than for any individual component. Navis Survey Acclaims AI

Global container terminals are expected to embrace automated decision making powered by artificial intelligence (AI) as they pursue ways to improve operational consistencies and enhance equipment utilization.According to  TechValidate customer survey by Navis, 88% of respondents indicated that automated decision making will be very if not extremely important for the future of innovation at terminals.Further, 83% plan to increase their AI investments over the next one-to-three years, signaling growing confidence in the use of innovative technologies to improve terminal efficiencies and gain competitive advantages, said the survey.Nearly 60 Navis customers participated in the survey…

North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven Upgrades to Navis N4

North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven (NTB) has upgraded its terminal operating system from Navis Express to the N4 terminal system. NTB is one of Europe's busiest and most important container terminals, handling about 3.2 million TEUs annually via continuous 24/7 operations. The terminal is located in Bremerhaven, Germany, offering complete intermodal connections to 130 ports worldwide. "N4 is the most advanced and widely-used terminal system on the market; we never considered another provider when tasked with migrating from Navis SPARCS and Express," said Marc Dieterich, General Manager Operations, North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven GmbH & Co.

Basra Gateway Terminal Goes Live with Navis N4

Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation, and provider of operational technologies and services that unlock greater performance and efficiency for terminal operators, announced that Basra Gateway Terminal (BGT), part of International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), has gone live with Navis’ N4 terminal operating system. Upgrading to N4 from an in-house operating system will help BGT achieve key operational goals by enhancing the customer experience while at the same time increasing terminal productivity by managing resources in a more efficient way, as well as improving the safety of yard workers, Navis said. Norfolk Goes Live with Navis TOS

Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation, and provider of operational technologies, today announced that The Port of Virginia successfully went live at Norfolk International Terminals (NIT) on June 20 with the Navis N4 terminal operating system (TOS). The implementation of N4 took place with no major disruptions to NIT’s operations. NIT is a key terminal at The Port of Virginia, a growing, deepwater container port on the U.S. East Coast that is capable of handling the largest vessels afloat.
