Digital Marine Solutions AS (DMS), the parent company of C-Map, has appointed Paul Østergaard as executive chairman. Together with the DMS board of directors and the C-Map leadership team, Østergaard will develop and implement the company’s strategic plan and lead the company in achieving its growth targets for 2017 and beyond. Østergaard began his career as an officer with the Danish Royal Guards and then spent five years with ship-owner J. Lauritzen in commercial and operational roles in Denmark and Brazil.

Veson Nautical is expanding its team in Singapore, and it welcomed John Carver as the new Regional Manager; Asia Pacific Region. Carver will lead Veson’s Singapore office and team, ensuring effective professional services team management, successful execution of regional client projects and growing Veson’s revenue through strong partner, customer relationships and regional business development. John Carver and the Singapore staff will service existing Veson regional customers such as Caltex, Rio Tinto, Pacific Basin, Petronas, Gazprom Singapore, ConocoPhillips Singapore, Tesoro Singapore, Thoresen, and Crossbridge, among others. Carver comes to the company with extensive experience in the enterprise software market.

M/Y Ronin, the 192 ft. Lurssen owned by Oracle Corporation founder/CEO Larry Ellison, has arrived at Knight & Carver YachtCenter and is now undergoing a refit project scheduled for completion by August 2005. According to Captain Steven Bates, the project’s emphasis will be on extensive audio/visual and IT upgrades, cabinet carpentry throughout all state rooms, re-caulking of the teak decks and hull paintwork. A full-time crew of Knight & Carver’s talented tradesmen has been assigned to Ronin. The most subtantial portion of the project will be completed on Knight & Carver’s 300’ drive-on dock, with haul-out at nearby Knight & Carver’s partner, Southwest Marine. Knight & Carver’s Cliff Mayo is serving as project manager.
