Singapore Alliance Building Electric Tug and Supply Boat

PaxOcean to Convert PSV to Cable Layer for Triasmitra

PaxOcean said its Nanindah Mutiara Shipyard in Indonesia has secured a contract to convert a platform supply vessel (PSV) into a submarine cable laying vessel (CLV) for telecoms company PT Ketrosden Triasmitra.The PSV is the Norwegian-built Skandi Sotra, previously acquired from Norway's DOF Group.As part of the conversion, the vessel will be equipped with a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) and plough system. The vessel is scheduled to be delivered early in the second quarter of 2023.

PaxOcean, Hong Lam Marine and BV to Designing Ammonia Bunker Vessel

Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Singapore-based bunker vessel operator Hong Lam Marine and classification society Bureau Veritas (BV) to jointly develop an ammonia bunker vessel design.PaxOcean will focus on developing designs for ammonia-fueled and ammonia bunkering vessels, while Bureau Veritas will verify compliance with the most applicable and up-to-date rules, particularly those related to the handling of ammonia. Taiwan Navigation Orders Two New Tugs

PT. Graha Trisaka Industri has awarded tug design contracts to Robert Allan Ltd. for a RAmparts 3200-W and a TRAktor 3200-V. The tugs will be built and operated by Taiwan Navigation Co. Ltd. under a long-term charter contract for CPC Corporation, Taiwan.PT. Graha Trisaka Industri is an affiliate of PaxOcean Group, Singapore with the shipyard located in Batam, Indonesia. PSA Marine Takes Delivery of Two New Tugs

Singapore's PSA Marine recently took delivery of two new 32-meter harbor tugs, PSA Marvel and PSA Valkyrie, from PaxOcean Engineering Zhuhai Co.The newbuilds, which follow the PSA Thor and PSA Hulk delivered from the same builder in 2018, are of the same basic design with some improvements, said naval architect Robert Allan Ltd.The RAmparts 3200 ASD tugs are designed for ship assist in berthing and un-berthing operations at ports/terminals, coastal towing operations and in addition are capable of escort service.

DEME Takes Delivery of New Dredger

Dutch company Royal IHC has delivered the newbuild trailing suction hopper dredger River Thames to Belgium's DEME.The dredger, designed and built by IHC, is based on the TSHD LESSE, delivered to Baggerbedrijf de Boer by IHC in 2019. The vessel is designed to maintain sea and inland waterways, as well as perform land reclamation. "The compact design of the TSHD is characterized by a small draught and can be deployed for projects in shallow water worldwide," Royal IHC said.The River Thames was built for DEME at PaxOcean Graha, Batam, Indonesia, and will now get ready for its first project.

Huisman Crane for Penta-Ocean's Wind Turbine Installation Rig

Dutch offshore equipment manufacturer Huisman has signed a contract with PaxOcean Engineering for the delivery of a 1,600mt Leg Encircling Crane. The crane will be installed on the new self-elevated platform (SEP) of Japanese company Penta-Ocean Construction, which ordered the unit from PaxOcean earlier this year.With this Huisman crane, the new jack-up unit will be capable to install 12 MW wind turbines and various foundations including monopiles. The jack-up rig will be built by PaxOcean Engineering in Batam, Indonesia.

PaxOcean to Build Jack-up for Japanese Firm

PaxOcean, Singapore-based builder focused on offshore rigs, semi-submersibles and specialized offshore vessels, has signed a contract with Japanese general contractor Penta-Ocean Construction to construct a self-elevating platform (SEP) for use in the offshore wind sector in Japan.Scheduled for completion in Q3 2022, the SEP is of a GustoMSC design, equipped with four tubular legs and four azimuth thrusters.According to a press release from the subsidiary of Kuok Singapore Limited, it is fitted with a 1,600-tonne leg encircling crane, a large clear deck area of approximately 3,800 sqm, with accommodation designed for 80 persons.Chief Executive Officer of PaxOcean Holdings…

Japanese Trio Orders Wind Turbine Installer

Royal IHC Launches TSHD River Thames

Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering NV (DEME) informed that its latest trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) River Thames  was successfully launched at PaxOcean Graha, Batam in Indonesia.The TSHD, designed and build by Royal IHC, has a hopper capacity of 2,300m³ and a maximum dredging depth of 30 meters below the waterline, said a press release from Royal IHC, a supplier of equipment, vessels and services for the offshore, dredging and wet mining markets.The RiverThames is a copy of the 2,300m³ TSHD LESSE, successfully delivered by IHC to Baggerbedrijf de Boer in August. The vessel is designed to maintain sea and inland waterways, as well as perform land reclamation.It is equipped with the latest electronic system to improve positioning, sounding and execution of dredging work.

PSA Marine Takes Delivery of Dual Fuel Tug

Jan De Nul Welcomes Three WIDs

After having recently announced the construction of its mega offshore jack-up installation vessel Voltaire, Jan De Nul Group has extended its fleet with three water injection dredgers (WID).Giovanni Venturi is the first out of three to be delivered by PaxOcean Shipyard. Jan De Nul Group recently purchased three offshore supply vessels and ordered the Singaporean shipyard to convert them into seagoing Water Injection Dredgers. Giovanni Venturi will be mobilized to its first project in Argentina.

Noble Buys New Jack-up from PaxOcean

London-based offshore drilling contractor Noble Corporation has bought a second newbuild Gusto MSC CJ46 design jack-up rig from the Singapore shipyard PaxOcean Group for $83.75 million. Like the Noble Johnny Whitstine, which the UK offshore driller purchased in September 2018 in connection with a Saudi Aramco contract, the newbuild CJ46 design jackup, to be named the Noble Joe Knight, was built at the PaxOcean Graha shipyard in Batam, Indonesia.The rig is built for operations in moderate drilling environments and is capable of operating in water depths of up to 375 feet, with well depths of 30,000 feet. PaxOcean Lays Keel for RAmparts 2800-DF

Singapore based construction specialist of rigs, semi-submersibles and specialised offshore vessels PaxOcean held the keel laying ceremony of PSA Marine’s first dual fuel ship-handling tug  at its facility in Zhuhai, China.Earlier, Robert Allan, the designer of LNG tugs, has been selected to design the very first RAmparts 2800-DF for PSA Marine.Peter Chew, Managing Director and Lim Bock Kee, Senior General Manager (Special Projects) of PSA Marine attended the ceremony.Robert Allan designed the RAstar 4000-DF for Østensjø Rederi, Norway and RAstar 3800-DF for Ningbo Port, China. Largest Chinese-built FSRU Delivered

PaxOcean’s Zhoushan Shipyard has delivered a 26,000m3 floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Karunia Dewata to Indonesia-based Jaya Samudra Karunia (JSK). The FSRU is the largest to be built in China and will be capable of regasifying around 50 million standard cubic feet per day.The project marks a milestone for China's growing gas shipping industry and will help increase the development of Indonesia’s gas supply chain, where the unit will be based. The unit is also the first FSRU that PaxOcean has built.

Noble Corporation Buys Gusto MSC CJ46 Design Jackup Rig

Noble Corporation has announced the purchase of a new Gusto MSC CJ46 design jackup rig from the PaxOcean Group (PaxOcean) in connection with a concurrently awarded drilling contract.Noble paid $33.75 million of the $93.75 million purchase price in cash, with the remainder of the purchase price, or $60 million seller-financed at a 4.25% interest rate paid in cash and 1.25% paid in kind over the term of the financing.The Company used existing cash balances for the initial payment and the secured seller-financed amount is to be repaid in four years. The Company also has an option for the purchase of a second newbuild CJ46 jackup from PaxOcean.The newbuild jackup, to be named the Noble Johnny Whitstine, was built at the PaxOcean Graha shipyard in Batam, Indonesia.

PSA Marine Orders LNG-fueled Harbor Tug

Wärtsilä said it has been contracted to design and equip one of PSA Marine (Pte) Ltd's newest harbor tugs. Operating on liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel and incorporating fuel efficiency features, the harbor tug, which will be built by PaxOcean Shipyard, will be aligned with the maritime industry’s increasing emphasis on environmental impact. The order with Wärtsilä, booked in March 2018.The 28-meter long, 50-metric-ton bollard pull harbor tug will operate with two Wärtsilä 20DF dual-fuel engines running primarily on LNG fuel.

POSH Takes Delivery of Two Singapore-built Tugs

Two Azistern 3270 tugs designed by Offshore Ship Designers (OSD) have been delivered to their new owner, PACC Offshore Services Holdings Limited (POSH Singapore), the Asia-based international offshore support vessel operator.   Posh Husky and Posh Hardy were built at Paxocean Shipyard in Singapore. They are classed by Bureau Veritas, and fly the Singapore flag. The 488 gt vessels have a LOA of 31.62 m, a bollard poll of 72 tonnes, and a maximum speed of 13 knots. They can accommodate 10 crew members in six single and two twin-berth cabins.

PaxOcean Contracts Noreq for Lifesaving Boat Package

PaxOcean Engineering in Singapore recently awarded Noreq the contract for the delivery of a full lifesaving package for two semi-submersible accommodation rigs. The contract is for eight lifeboats and davits and one fast rescue boat and davit per rig. PaxOcean consists of six shipyards in Asia offering Ship repair, conversion, offshore vessel newbuilding and rigs construction services. In 2012, Pacc Offshore Services Holdings (POSH) awarded PaxOcean the contract for conversion of one unit well intervention vessels to a high specification DP3 Semi-Submersible Accommodation Vessel (SSAV).

ABS to Class Newbuild Semisubmersible, Liftboat

Baoham Offshore (HK) Ltd. has selected ABS to provide classification services for newbuilds in China. ABS, a provider of marine and offshore classification services, has been selected by Baoham Offshore (HK) Ltd. to class a drilling semisubmersible and a liftboat. "This award is a reflection of the solid reputation ABS has built as a classification society over more than 30 years in China," said ABS Executive Vice President of Energy Project Development Ken Richardson. According to Baoham Offshore General Manager Xu Jun, the company's goal is to be a first mover in China.
