Penguin Marks Milestone Crewboat Delivery

Singaporean shipbuilder Penguin International Limited last week held a ceremony marking the delivery of a milestone vessel.The 40-meter aluminum crewboat, Pelican Breeze, is noteworthy for being Penguin's 100th newbuild vessel powered by Cat C32 ACERT main propulsion engines and Cat C4.4 auxiliary generators."Back in 2014, almost two decades after we built our first ship, we took our first step with Caterpillar and Tractors Singapore with our first Cat C32-powered vessel, which was only our 95th newbuild at the time," said Penguin's managing director, James Tham.

Singapore Orders Two More Fire and Rescue Vessels

Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) have yet again selected BMT and Singapore’s homegrown shipbuilder Penguin Shipyard International to design and build the next generation of fire and rescue boats called “MFV-R”. Shell Orders Fully Electric Ferries from Penguin in Singapore

Opus Marine Buys Two Crew Transfer Vessels from Penguin

German offshore vessel operator Opus Marine has acquired two WINDFLEX-27 Crew Transfer Vessels built by Penguin Shipyard, a unit of Singapore-based Penguin International Limited. ST Marine, VT Halter Bags $138m in Orders

Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd announced that its Singapore shipyard, Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine) and its US shipyard, VT Halter Marine Inc (VT Halter Marine) have secured new contracts worth $138m in 4Q2016. In Singapore, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has awarded a contract to a consortium formed by ST Marine and Penguin International Limited (PIL) for the design, construct and the system maintenance programme for three vessels - Heavy Marine Fire Vessel (HMFV), Heavy Marine Rescue Vessel (HMRV) and Marine Rescue Vessel (MRV). The consortium allows both ST Marine and PIL to leverage on each other’s capabilities to provide a total package solution to MHA. Construction of the vessels is anticipated to commence in mid-2017 with delivery expected in 2H2019.

BMT Nigel Gee Contracts Penguin for Three Ferries

BMT Nigel Gee (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd., announced its latest contract with Singapore-based Penguin Shipyard International Pte. Ltd., for the design of three 38-meter monohull high-speed passenger ferries for the busy Singapore-Indonesia ferry route. The shipbuilding subsidiary of Singapore-listed crewboat specialist Penguin International Limited recently signed a contract with Horizon Ferries Pte. Ltd. to build the three 238-passenger ferries, which will be deployed to run between Singapore and the Indonesian island of Batam.

BMT Group subsidiary, BMT Nigel Gee, contracted to design two 25-metre Fast Crew Boats for Penguin International Ltd. Penguin Shipyard International, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore-based crewboat builder and operator, Penguin International Limited. Penguin is building the two BV classed, 70-passenger Fast Crew Boats for ARCO Marine and Oilfield Services for deployment in Nigeria’s offshore oil and gas industry. Delivery of the vessels is expected in the fourth quarter of 2013.

To Russia With Love

A pair of 200-pax catamarans, “Penguin 32” and “Penguin 33”, being loaded onto heavylift vessel MV MERWEDEGRACHT at Jurong Port, Singapore.   The ferries departed Singapore on 27 July for Vladivostok, where they will serve as vital support craft at the APEC 2012 Summit to be held on Russky Island, part of Vladivostok's Frunzensky district in the Peter the Great Gulf. The owner of the ferries, Penguin International Limited (www.penguin.com.sg), is a Singapore-based builder and operator of ferries and offshore crewboats.

Penguin Delivers its First FLEX‐38 Green Crewboat

Penguin Shipyard International (“PSI”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore‐based Penguin International Limited (“PIL”), has delivered its first Flex‐38 Green Crewboat, “Pelican Grace”, following a successful sea trial that saw the triple screw 38‐metre crewboat achieve cruising speeds of over 24 knots with a fuel consumption rate of only 510 litres per hour, which is substantially less than the fuel consumption of other mid‐sized, mechanically powered crewboats.
