PensionDanmark, Danica Roll Out $300mln Maritime Investment Fund
PensionDanmark, Danica and Navigare Capital Partners have established the Maritime Investment Fund I, which, based on capital from the founders, shall build a diversified portfolio of maritime assets including dry bulk, container, offshore, product, crude oil and chemical tankers, to put on charter to operators. The fund will be managed by Navigare Capital Partners, which consists of partners with broad based shipping experience. ”The new investment fund will give institutional investors a possibility to invest in a broad portfolio of vessels. Global Clean Energy Investments Fall Again
Clean Energy Pipeline, the online daily financial news and data service dedicated to the clean energy sector, released its preliminary analysis of venture capital, private equity, project finance, mergers and acquisitions and public markets activity during 4Q13 and 2013. New investment in the global clean energy sector totalled $58.2 billion in 4Q13, a 15% increase on the $50.7 billion invested in 3Q13 but a 21% decrease on the $74.1 billion recorded in the corresponding period in 2012. Despite the quarterly increase, total investment throughout 2013 decreased 20% year-on-year to $212 billion. Total investment in the global clean energy sector has now fallen for two consecutive years.
Denmark Receives Power from Anholt Offshore Wind Farm
The first CO2-free power is now being fed into the Danish power grid from Anholt offshore wind farm. On its completion next year, the farm, with its total capacity of 400 MW, will be Denmark’s largest offshore wind farm and will deliver power equivalent to the consumption of 400,000 Danish households. The turbine supplier is Siemens Wind Power. “We are on schedule and are therefore already now able to deliver the first green power to the Danes.
