Norwegian vessel owner Golden Energy Offshore Services (GEOS) has entered into contracts for two of its platform supply vessels (PSVs) – Energy Passion and Energy Paradise.The contract is with ‘Tier 1 international oil major’ whose name was not disclosed, with the operations planned to take place in the North Sea.The contract for the 2016-built Energy Passion PSV is for one-year firm, with one-year option.The Energy Paradise PSV, built in 2015, has been hired for six months firm and six months option.The gross contract value for the firm period is $14 million…

Golden Energy Offshore Looking to Power Vessels with Hydrogen

Norwegian offshore vessel operator Golden Energy Offshore has signed a letter of intent with Gen2 Energy to explore the use and availability of hydrogen-based fuel on vessels in its fleet."We hope that Golden Energy Offshore and Gen2 Energy together can find zero-emissions solutions that are attractive to our customers and capable of being implemented both on existing vessels in the fleet and newbuilds. The markets we are serving are increasingly demanding the most environmentally friendly solutions as using hydrogen, including methanol and ammonia.

GEO Installs Ulstein Blue Box in 2 Vessels

The Norwegian ship owner Golden Energy Offshore has decided to install Ulstein Blue Box on two of their vessels.The offshore service vessels for the global oil and gas service industry quoted ship owner Per Ivar Fagervoll as saying: “With Blue Box we will manage to reduce our fuel consumption and environmental footprint further, which is very important to us.”Golden Energy Offshore is actively pursuing environmental friendly solutions, and has a green profile. GEO's Twin PSVs Named in Norway

Norwegian offshore supply vessel provider Golden Energy Offshore (GEO) named two platform supply vessels (PSVs).The company's CEO Per Ivar Fagervoll said that the sister vessels Energy Empress and Energy Duchess were named on 29 June 2019. The naming ceremony was held on board the Energy Empress beneath the Seven Sisters waterfall in the Geiranger fjord.The vessels have been built at the Nantong Rainbow Offshore & Engineering Equipments Co., Ltd (ROC) yard, China.The platform supply vessels have been designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions AS and are based on Ulstein’s PX121 design. Optimarin Demonstrates Total System Reliability

Environmentally friendly and compliant BWT technology company  Optimarin gave a demonstration of its long-term system reliability onboard Neptune Subsea’s IMR vessel Larissa in the same week that a report from ABS revealed problems with almost half of installed ballast water treatment (BWT) systems. Optimarin has installed more than 300 of its systems worldwide, with over 500 units ordered. The 334 m3 capacity system onboard the SX130 Ulstein design Larissa was one of the first, installed during its construction by Zhejiang Shipbuilding in 2010. Rolls-Royce Launches Energy Management System

Rolls-Royce has launched the next generation of its Energy Management (EM) System. The system will allow customers to reduce energy usage, fuel consumption and operating costs whilst supporting environmental compliance and providing performance information that enables the ship to comply with SEEMP rules and IMO regulations. The Energy Management System offers customers a more data-driven performance management and decision making approach. This will give an enhanced ability to monitor the performance of an individual vessel or a fleet.

Ulstein Verft Delivers 'Blue Queen’

On 24 February 2015, ‘Blue Queen’ a platform supply vessel of the PX121 design, was delivered to Blue Ship Invest from Ulstein Verft. This vessel is the first of two for which Norway-based Golden Energy offshore is awarded the ship management contract. In total, 30 vessels of this design have been contracted by different ship owners for construction at various shipyards world-wide. 'Blue Queen' is the ninth being constructed at Ulstein Verft. Excellent feedback is received from the crews on the vessels in operation, including praises for user-friendly solutions, high comfort and accommodation standards, as well as the operability even in adverse weather conditions.

Ulstein Delivers PSV Blue Queen

Platform supply vessel (PSV) Blue Queen, of Ulstein’s PX121 design, was delivered to Blue Ship Invest from Ulstein Verft on February 24, 2015. This vessel is the first of two for which Norway-based Golden Energy offshore is awarded the ship management contract. In total, 30 vessels of this design have been contracted by different shipowners for construction at various shipyards worldwide, Ulstein noted. Blue Queen is the ninth being constructed at Ulstein Verft.

Golden Energy Offshore orders 2 PSVs

Golden Energy Offshore has entered into a shipbuilding contract with NANTONG RAINBOW OFFSHORE & ENGINEERING EQUIPMENTS CO.,LTD (ROC) in China for the construction of two PX121H Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) from ULSTEIN, with the option to build two more vessels of the same design. The two confirmed vessels are due for delivery from yard in Q1 and Q2 of 2016. The vessels of the PX121H design are customised with an extra deck. They have an overall length of 83.4 metres and a beam of 18 metres and a deadweight (dwt) of 4,000 tonnes. The vessels will be equipped with the most modern solutions for DP2 (dynamic positioning), oil recovery and fire-fighting.
