Keppel Profits Fall

Singapore-based rig builder Keppel Offshore & Marine saw profits fall for last year along with revenues. It also revealed work had slowed on rigs being built for Sete Brasil with the Brazilian company not making payments in over a year. Keppel’s profit was S$481 million for the full year., down 54% from S$1,040 a year ago. For the quarter O&M business recorded a net loss of $61 million. It posted a net loss of $42.54 million for Q4 2015, down from a net profit of $200.18 million in the previous year, with the decline attributed to lower volume of work and deferment of some projects. Keppel Corporation has halted work on its projects for Sete Brasil and made a provision of about $230 million for the possible write-offs, said chief executive Loh Chin Hua.

De C.V., a subsidiary of Mexico's Perforadora Central S.V. De C.V. (Perforadora Central) on time, within budget and with zero loss time incidents. The rig was christened today at Keppel AmFELS’ yard in Brownsville, Texas by Lady Sponsor, Monica Funtanet de Alvarez-Morphy, the wife of Javier Alvarez Morphy Camou Sr, Director of Perforadora Central.

Keppel AmFELS Secures Mexican Jackup Order

Keppel AmFELS LLC, a US-based wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has won a contract from Central Panuco S.A. De C.V., a subsidiary of Mexico's Perforadora Central S.V. De C.V. (Perforadora Central) to build a KFELS B Class jackup rig worth $240 million, including owner furnished equipment. Scheduled for delivery in 4Q 2015, the jackup rig is intended for operations in offshore Mexico. Built to Keppel's market-established KFELS B Class design, the rig will be able to operate in water depths of up to 400 feet, drill to depths of 30,000 feet with accommodation for 126 persons and a BOP system of 18-3/4 x 15,000 PSI. With this latest contract, a total of 13 KFELS B Class jackup rigs have been ordered for the Mexican market since 2010.

Keppel FELS Delivers Another Premium Rig

Keppel FELS has delivered a KFELS B Class jackup rig, to Constructora y Perforadora Latina (CP LATINA), a private Mexican company in the energy sector. The rig was named La Santa Mariaat a ceremony in Keppel FELS. Delivered on time and with a perfect safety record, it will be chartered to Pemex, Mexico's national oil company, for deployment in offshore Mexico. La Santa Maria  is the first of two high-specification jackup rigs that Keppel FELS is building for CP Latina. The second rig is on schedule to be delivered in 4Q 2013. Keppel FELS Delivers Second Jackup Rig to Oro Negro

Keppel FELS delivered a second KFELS B Class jackup rig to offshore Mexican oil field services company, Integradora de Servicios Petroleros Oro Negro. Named Laurus at Keppel FELS today, the rig was delivered eleven days early and with a perfect safety record, Keppel noted. Laurus is the second of two high-specification jackup rigs that Keppel FELS has built for Oro Negro which will be chartered to PEMEX, Mexico's national oil company, for deployment in offshore Mexico. The first rig, Primus, was delivered in December last year. Mr. Wong Kok Seng, Managing Director (Offshore) of Keppel Offshore & Marine and Managing Director of Keppel FELS, said, "This delivery is the eighth by Keppel FELS this year, and in a year where we aim to deliver a record 20 rigs.

Keppel AmFELS Delivers Third Rig to Perforadora Central

Keppel AmFELS LLC, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has delivered the jackup rig, Papaloapan, to Mexico’s Perforadora Central SA de CV (Perforadora Central) on time, within budget and with a perfect safety record. The rig was christened at Keppel AmFELS’ yard in Brownsville, Texas by Lady Sponsor, Mrs. Gabriela Jiménez de Alvarez Morphy, wife of Mr. Luis Alvarez Morphy Camou, Director of Perforadora Central. Papaloapan is the the third jackup rig built by Keppel AmFELS for Perforadora Central and is based on the LeTourneau Super 116E design.

Keppel Expands Foothold in Mexican Offshore Market

Keppel FELS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has won a contract from PEMEX Exploracion y Produccion, a subsidiary of Mexico's national oil company, Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), to build two KFELS B Class jackup rigs worth US$420 million. Scheduled for delivery in 1Q 2015, the high specification rigs will be the 19th and 20th KFELS B Class rigs on order at Keppel, with 36 already delivered in the past decade. When completed, the two rigs will join a number of KFELS B Class jackup rigs built by Keppel for Mexican customers. This includes the Primus jackup rig recently delivered to Oro Negro as well as the Tonala rig operated by Peforadora Central.

Keppel AmFELS Delivers Rowan Rig Ahead of Schedule

Keppel AmFELS LLC, a wholly owned US subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has completed the delivery of its fourth EXL jack-up rig to a subsidiary of Rowan Companies, Inc. (Rowan) (NYSE: RDC) with a perfect safety record, four months ahead of schedule and within budget. The jack-up rig was christened Rowan EXL-IV yesterday by Ms. Mary J. Dunaway and Ms. Audra M. Williamson, daughters of Mr. Johnnie Huckabay, one of Rowan's senior rig managers. The rig was delivered on September 1, 2011 and is scheduled to depart Keppel AmFELS' yard in Brownsville, Texas in October 2011. Keppel To Build New Jackup Worth US$195 Million For Mexico

Keppel AmFELS LLC, a US wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has won a contract from Mexico's Perforadora Central SA de CV (Perforadora Central) to build a repeat jackup rig valued at about US$195 million. Slated for delivery in 1Q 2013, this latest high specification unit will be based on the LeTourneau Super 116E design. Unlike the existing LeTourneau Super 116Es, this will be the first Super 116E newbuild to be further enhanced to provide for an additional 1,500 kips of elevated load. It will have leg lengths of 511 ft and the capability to drill wells up to 30,000 ft at a water depth of 375 ft. Mexico is the world's sixth largest producer of oil and has the seventh largest natural gas reserve in the western hemisphere.

Keppel AmFELS Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M) in the US Gulf of Mexico, has delivered the jackup drilling rig, Offshore Intrepid, to Scorpion Intrepid Ltd. a subsidiary of Scorpion Offshore Ltd. (Scorpion) on time. With this delivery, Keppel AmFELS has completed the series of five LeTourneau Super 116 jackup rigs commissioned by Scorpion in 2005 without delay. Offshore Intrepid was named by Mrs. Drucie Cole, spouse of Mr. Jon Cole, Scorpion’s President & CEO, at the Keppel AmFELS yard on 24 January 2009.

AMFELS Wins $83M Deal

Keppel Corp.'s AMFELS Inc unit in Brownsville, Texas, won a $83 million contract to build a new jack-up rig for Mexican company Perforadora Central S.A. de C.V. Due for delivery in the first quarter of 2004, this rig is the fourth MOD V "B" class ordered in two years. The first "B" class, Chiles Discovery has just been delivered in Singapore. Its sister rig Chiles Galileo, being built in AMFELS for the same owner Chiles Offshore Inc is due in September 2002. The third vessel, Atwood Beacon, is currently under construction in Singapore for Atwood Oceanics Pacific Limited and is expected to be delivered in June 2003. "This new generation rig looks set to become the rig of choice to replace the aging jack-up rigs that have been built in the 70/80s when they retire.

Keppel Reports $83M Rig Deal

Singapore conglomerate Keppel Corp said today that its U.S. unit has won an $83-million contract to build a new jack-up rig for Mexican offshore and onshore drilling service provider Perforadora Central. It said in a statement the drilling rig was due for delivery to its customer in the first quarter of 2004. It also said the group would continue to focus on its three key businesses - offshore & marine, infrastructure and property.

Chiles Offshore Announces 4Q Results

For the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2000, the Chiles Offshore reported net income of $4,401,000 on revenues of $16,752,000. In the corresponding quarter ended December 31, 1999, the company reported a net loss of $2,234,000 on revenues of $5,274,000. For the 12 months ended December 31, 2000, and excluding the effect of certain one time, non-cash charges related to the September 22, 2000 initial public offering of common stock, the company reported net income of $11,559,000 on revenues of $56,006,000. In the corresponding 12 months ended December 31, 1999, the company reported a net loss of $3,963,000 on revenues of $8,596,000. On July 20, 2000 the company entered into an agreement with Perforadora Central, S.A. de C.V.

AMFELS Lays Keel Ahead of Schedule

AMFELS Inc, the US wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore’s Keppel Corporation Limited through Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd, has laid the keel for new jack-up rig, Tonala, one month ahead of schedule. The $83 million contract for the rig was signed in April 2002 with Mexican company, Perforadora Central SA de CV. Tonala is a KFELS MOD V “B” class jack-up, enhanced with Keppel’s proprietary jacking and fixation systems developed by its research and technology arm, Offshore Technology Development. Rowan Wins Rig Contruction Contract

Rowan Companies, Inc. announced that it's wholly-owned subsidiary, LeTourneau, Inc., has been awarded a contract by Perforadora Central, S.A. de C.V., a Mexican drilling contractor, to construct a Super 116E class jack-up rig.The rig will be an enhanced version of LeTourneau's Super 116-C class jack-up rig, with greater environmental and payload capacity. It will have 511 feet of leg, enabling operations in water depths up to 350 feet in areas like the Gulf of Mexico, Asia and the Persian Gulf. Keppel Clinches $190m Rig Order

Keppel AmFELS Inc. has secured a contract from Mexican company Perforadora Central SA de CV to build a jackup rig valued at approximately $190m. The jackup drilling rig is due for delivery in end-2009, and is expected to be deployed in the Gulf of Mexico. This is the second rig that Keppel AmFELS is building for Perforadora Central. The first unit was delivered in 2004 and is working for PEMEX, Mexico’s national oil company. In late 2006, Keppel AmFELS completed the onshore construction of two 220-crew accommodation platforms, HA-KU-M and HA-KU-S, for PEMEX. The contract is not expected to have material impact on the net tangible assets and earnings per share of Keppel Corporation for the financial year 2007.

Chiles Sees Royalty Relief Program as Support for Future

Chiles Offshore LLC is the operator of three of seven existing ultra-premium jackup drilling rigs, all of which currently operate in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico. The company owns two of these rigs, the Chiles Columbus and the Chiles Magellan, and operates the third, the Tonala, under a bareboat charter. Ultra-premium jackup drilling rigs are differentiated from other jackup drilling rigs primarily by their greater water depth capabilities, an ability to extend the drilling system over larger fixed offshore platforms and more powerful mud pumps that allow them to drill wells faster and more reliably than other rigs. Chiles Offshore Announces 2Q Results

For the quarter ended June 30, 2001, Chiles Offshore Inc. reported net income of $5.0 million or $0.28 per basic share compared to net income of $3.3 million, or $0.42 per basic share, reported for the corresponding quarter ended June 30, 2000. Revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2001, was $19.6 million compared to revenue of $14.5 million for the corresponding quarter ended June 30, 2000. For the six-month period ended June 30, 2001, the Company reported net income of $10.3 million or $0.59 per basic share, on revenue of $38.2 million. Net income for the comparable period in 2000 was $3.1 million or $0.45 per basic share on revenue of $23.0 million.

TDI-Halter Builds First Super 116-C Jackup Rig

TDI-Halter, the Offshore Division of Halter Marine Group, Inc., recently completed the new construction of the first LeTourneau Super 116-C design jackup drilling rig for Perforadora Central, S.A. de C.V. The jackup was christened Tonala by Gabriela Alvarez-Morphy, wife of Patricio Alvarez-Morphy, president and CEO. Halter utilized its rig and marine shipyards for the construction of Tonala. The three 46 ft. diameter spudcans, built at the South Yard, and three 477 ft. long legs, fabricated at the Orange Yard, were built in Texas and transported by barge to the Pascagoula facility. The wingtank modules and accommodation block were built in Mississippi at Halter's Gulfport facility. The cantilever beams were fabricated by Superior Fabricators in Louisiana, and installed in Pascagoula.

Chiles Offshore Enters Into Arrangement

Chiles Offshore LLC has begun a bareboat charter arrangement with Perforadora Central of Mexico City, who is the owner of the Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit, Tonala. Designed by LeTourneau, Tonala is a super 116-C cantilever jackup able to work in up to 350 ft. of water, built for Perforadora by TDI Halter Marine. Completed this past January, Tonala is expected to enter service in mid-March 2000, where it will commence a contract with CNG Producing Company to drill two wells in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico over the course of 60 days.
