Jotun and Kansai Paint Bundle Activities

A total of 5,300 gallons of Sherwin-Williams Protective & Marine Coatings ensures that one of Washington’s most valuable assets will provide service for years to come. With a longstanding history of ferry operation in the Puget Sound, Washington State Ferries (WSF) was in need of a coatings company with just as strong of a reputation when preserving the 3,634-ton M/V Kaleetan auto/passenger ferry in the summer of 2015. Built in 1967 in San Diego, Calif., the M/V Kaleetan – which means “arrow” in Chinook – first went into service in early 1968 and was rebuilt in 2005.

KONGSBERG Awarded IVCS Package for Nautilus Newbuild

Nautilus announces that the contract for the vessel integrated control system (including dynamic positioning and navigation systems) to be used on the Company's Production Support Vessel (PSV), has been awarded to Kongsberg Maritime, located in Norway. This is yet another key contract to be awarded by the shipyard, Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Limited. Mike Johnston, Nautilus' CEO, commented, "we are delighted to have the global technology leader in this field, well known for its extensive portfolio of high performance products and solutions supplying the dynamic positioning, navigation and control systems for our PSV. Custom Cranes Installed Aboard Nigerian OSV

Global offshore crane manufacturer Sormec has supplied matching cranes for a Dutch-built vessel operating in one of Nigeria's largest deepwater oil fields. The Italian firm was tasked with manufacturing two M350/EL hydraulic elbow knuckle-boom marine cranes to be equipped aboard an offshore supply vessel (OSV) for the Awaritse Nigeria Ltd vessel Prince Job I, now based in Chevron’s Agbami Field, one of Nigeria's largest deepwater discoveries. The Sicilian company supplied the cranes for the 69-meter-long OSV which was built at the DeHoop Shipyard in Rotterdam.

The ring connects the main towline and the pennant in such a way that a controlled weak link is created, preventing towing-line overload. Moreover, the KO-LINK replaces the commonly used cow-hitch knot, which if poorly made can cause unequal loading on the eyes resulting in premature line failure.

Rogowski Named General Manager at Honeywell
