Equatorial, TFG and Sinopec are Singapore's Top Three Marine Bunker Suppliers in 2023

Equatorial Marine Fuel Management Services, TFG Marine and Sinopec Fuel Oil Singapore were the top three marine bunker suppliers in Singapore, the world's largest bunker hub, in 2023, latest data from the port authority showed.Equatorial maintained its top position for a second consecutive year, while Trafigura's TFG Marine rose one spot to become the second largest supplier, data from Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority showed.Sinopec Fuel Oil Singapore jumped 16 spots to become the third largest supplier, the data showed.

Singapore Port Authority Says Tainted Bunker Fuel Came from UAE

Jurong Port Buys Lim Family's Stake in Universal Terminal

China's INE Considers Singapore for Marine Fuel Futures Delivery

The Shanghai International Energy Exchange (INE) is considering using oil storage sites in Singapore owned by PetroChina Co as a delivery point for its low-sulphur fuel oil futures contract, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the matter.The INE’s move would be the first time a Chinese futures contract would be deliverable outside of China and could boost liquidity for the contract, as well as help to influence pricing for shipping fuel.Low-sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) is required as ship fuel to meet new maritime emissions regulations that went into effect this year.

COSCO Orders Three LNG Carriers at Hudong-Zhonghua

Chinese, Japanese Firms Bid for Pakistan LNG Supply Contract

A spot tender by Pakistan LNG to buy ten LNG cargoes for delivery later this year has received strong interest from several companies including Japanese and Chinese firms. JERA Global Markets, a subsidiary of the world’s largest LNG buyer JERA Co, and PetroChina International (Singapore), a division of PetroChina Co Ltd, were among nine companies that have technically qualified to supply the LNG. This is the third time this year PetroChina has technically qualified in Pakistan LNG’s tender process.

Qatargas, PetroChina Sign 22-Years LNG Supply Deal

Dynagas Announces TC for LNG Carrier Pair

Dynagas LNG Partners has announced that a Partnership has entered into a new three year charter agreement with Statoil ASA (Statoil) for the employment of the Arctic Aurora, its 2013-built, 155,000 cubic meter, tri-fuel diesel engine, ice class liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier. The Arctic Aurora is currently, and has been since 2013, on charter to Statoil. The Extended Charter is expected to commence in the third quarter of 2018 in direct continuation of the Current Charter (interrupted only by the vessel’s mandatory statutory class five-year special survey and dry-docking) and will have a firm period of about 3 years +/- 30 days. Statoil will have the option to extend the Extended Charter by two consecutive 12-month periods at escalated rates.

PetroChina Unloads First US SPR Cargo

PetroChina is this week unloading the first Chinese purchase of crude oil from U.S. strategic petroleum reserves at a port in eastern China, according to shipping data and two industry sources. The move comes as China, the world's No.2 oil consumer, steps up imports from the Americas to diversify supply sources. PetroChina unit, PetroChina International America Inc, bought the 550,000-barrel cargo of Bryan Mound sour crude in a sale from U.S. strategic petroleum reserves in March for $28.8 million. Supertanker Cosrising Lake <C}KV7309834335>, chartered by PetroChina, is unloading the U.S. oil at Qingdao port in Shandong province this week, shipping data on Thomson Reuters Eikon showed. The crude has an API gravity of 33.3 degrees and sulphur content of 1.41 percent, according to the U.S.

Veson Nautical Adds 42 Clients

Veson Nautical, a  provider of commercial maritime software and services, has announced that despite challenging times in the shipping industry, the company has added 42 new clients from around the globe over the past 18 months. Twenty of the new clients are from the wet and gas segments, including shipping notables such as BW Maritime Pte Ltd, Dorian LPG (USA) LLC, ENGIE (formerly GDF Suez Energy Management Trading), Hoegh LNG, and PetroChina International (Singapore) Pte Ltd. Nineteen new clients include well-known dry bulk companies such as Nova Marine Carriers SA, South32 Marketing Pte Ltd and Western Bulk ASA. Trafigura Pte Ltd is one of three new clients that manage a mix of dry and wet business.

Technip Samsung JV Wins 2 FLNG Project Contracts

The Browse project covers the realization and installation of three FLNG units to develop the Brecknock, Calliance and Torosa fields in the Browse Basin, 425 kilometers North of Broome, Western Australia. The Browse project will capitalize on Shell's FLNG experience, as well as on Woodside's offshore and subsea development expertise. The first contract awarded to the Technip Samsung Consortium covers the front-end engineering design (FEED) elements of the Browse FLNG project, taking into account the composition of the gas, local weather conditions and factors specific to each of the three fields. This contract was immediately novated by Shell to Woodside as operator.

Russia's Shipping Major Reports Strong 1H 2014

OAO Sovcomflot (SCF Group), Russia’s largest shipping company and a global leader in seaborne energy transportation and offshore services, has announced its financial and operating results for the six months ended 30 June 2014. Proposed Canadian LNG Export Terminal Gets License

The federal government approves a 25-year export licence for shipping LNG from Kitimat, a West Coast terminal proposed by a Shell consortium . The licence awarded to LNG Canada, a consortium of Shell, Korea Gas Corp., Mitsubishi Corp., and PetroChina International, will allow the export of up to 24 million tonnes of LNG per year, the largest of three export licences awarded to date, according to The Canadian Press. The LNG Canada terminal is one of five proposed for the B.C. coast, and the project has yet to undergo an environmental assessment. Plans to make the B.C.

Qatar Petroleum, Shell, Petrochina Agreement

Qatar Petroleum (QP) on behalf of the Government of the State of Qatar has signed a new Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) with Shell and PetroChina Company Limited (PetroChina) for Qatar Block D. The agreement was signed in Doha by His Excellency Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy and Industry, Peter Voser, Chief Executive Officer of Royal Dutch Shell plc, and Mr. Zhao Dong, Chief Financial Officer of PetroChina International Investment Company Limited. Under the agreement, the partners will jointly explore for natural gas in Block D. Block D covers an area of 8,089 square kilometres onshore and offshore Qatar and is located close to Ras Laffan. The Block D concession is for pre-Khuff geological intervals.
