MISC Signs Deals for World’s First Ammonia Dual-Fuel Oil Tankers

Malaysia’s MISC Group has entered into time charter party (TCP) and shipbuilding contracts for the development of world’s first two ammonia dual-fuel Aframax oil tankers.The TCP contract has been signed with Petronas' PETCO Trading Labuan Company (PTLCL), through MISC Group's petroleum arm AET.Using these vessels, PTLCL will be able to transport its products to customers around the world while contributing to the industry decarbonization by utilizing ammonia as the cleaner alternative…

ADS Maritime Holding Buys Into Equinor-bound Shuttle Tanker Quarter

ADS Maritime Holding has agreed to acquire a 5 % shareholding in AET Sea Shuttle AS and AET Sea Shuttle II AS, the owners of four modern shuttle tankers operating in the North Sea, mainly on long term charters to Equinor. The vessels are Eagle Blane, Eagle Balder, Eagle Bergen, and Eagle Barents. Shuttle tankers are used for the offloading and transporting oil from offshore oil installations.The majority partner in the owning companies will remain major Malaysian tanker owner AET, part of the MISC/Petronas Group. "The vessels are operated by OSM Maritime. Sellers are ADS Shipping Limited.

LNG Carrier Seri Camar Delivered to MISC

Malaysian shipping firm MISC Group has taken delivery of Seri Cemara, the final vessel in a series of five MOSS-Type liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers built for long-term charter to Petronas.The 150,200 CBM LNG carrier has been built for MISC by South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (HHI). Upon its delivery, Seri Cemara joins her sister MOSS-Type carriers Seri Camellia, Seri Cenderawasih, Seri Cempaka and Seri Camar on long-term charter to Petronas.The new generation of Seri C Class LNG carriers have been designed for worldwide trading capability to enable them to call at all major LNG terminals in the world as well as loading capability at floating LNG (FLNG) units.

Technip & Fluor Bag RAPID UIO Project

Technip, in a joint venture with Fluor, was awarded an engineering, procurement and construction management contract by PRPC Utilities and Facilities Sdn. Bhd. for the PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) project located in the state of Johor, Malaysia. Under this contract, the Fluor and Technip joint venture will be responsible for the utilities, interconnecting and offsites (UIO) scope of work. PRPC Utilities and Facilities Sdn. Bhd. is a subsidiary of PETRONAS Refinery and Petrochemical Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (PRPC), a company under the umbrella of Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) group, Malaysia’s national oil and gas company. RAPID is part of PETRONAS Pengerang Integrated Complex development.

UK P&I Club Elects New Board

New Directors, UK P&I Board

Seven directors were elected to the Board of the UK P&I Club at its AGM in Athens on the 27th October. After obtaining a postgraduate degree in industrial engineering, Ibrahim Güngen founded Güngen Foreign Trade Co Ltd with his brother Mehmet in 1976 and the business quickly became the biggest importer of molasses in Turkey. Mr Güngen has been chief executive officer of Güngen Maritime and Trading since 1990. Dr Grahaeme Henderson, aged 56, joined Shell following a PhD in Engineering from Southampton University in 1980.
