Now, with the implementation of increasingly stringent environmental regulations, which will increase operating costs and alter the dynamic of fuel procurement, the industry will once again need to evolve. OW Bunker Reduces Global Claims to 0.9%

Internal quality standard helps company meet global target of reducing claims to below 1% and set new industry benchmark for best practice. OW Bunker has  announced that it has reduced global claims1 on physical products to 0.9% for Q1 2014. This is down from an average of 1.6% in 2013. The company set a target of reducing global claims to below 1% when it introduced its own Global Quality Standard (GQS) at the end of 2012 to ensure the quality of products supplied by its physical operations on a global basis.

OW Bunker Appoints New N. America Regional Manager

OW Bunker, one of the world’s largest suppliers and traders of marine fuels and lubricants, appoint Adrian Tolson to the new role of Regional Manager for the company’s North American operation. Mr. Tolson joined OW Bunker in October 2012 to develop the physical division in North America; he will now head up both trading and physical operations. The move is part of the company’s strategy to create strong leadership within its key global regions and to deliver controlled expansion and increase capacity within North America. As part of the development, OW Bunker is also in the process of implementing a significant recruitment drive to help facilitate its growth ambitions.

OW Bunker Appoints North America Regional Manager

OW Bunker, one of the world’s largest suppliers and traders of marine fuels and lubricants, announced that Adrian Tolson was appointed to the new role of Regional Manager for the company’s North American operation. Mr. Tolson joined OW Bunker in October 2012 to develop the physical division in North America; he will now head up both trading and physical operations.

OW Bunker Buy Two Bunker Barges

OW Bunker acquire two bunker barges for Nordic operations: 'OW Copenhagen' and 'OW Aalborg'. Prior to the acquisition, OW Bunker operated both vessels on a bare-boat charter from international shipping company the Clipper Group. OW Copenhagen and OW Aalborg are modern double-hulled 3,500dwt tanker barges, built in 2006 and 2005 respectively. Both vessels have a tank capacity of 4,260 m3, fast pumping rates of up to 600 m3/hr and are oil major approved. As part of the company’s strategy to develop the highest standards within its physical division, the vessels also have Coriolis flow meters to ensure customers receive the right quantity of product during supply.

OW Bunker to Supply Low Sulphur Fuel

Responds to increased ECA demand with launch of LSFO supply barge. OW Bunker, a global supplier and trader of marine fuel and lubricants, has announced that it will supply low sulphur 1% RMG 380cst fuel from Balboa, Panama from mid-October 2012. The move will serve to meet the growing demand from customers transiting the North American ECA zones. The company's local supply tanker, MT Star Alpha, has been released from dry-dock following modifications to the supply vessel's tanks to provide complete segregation of LSFO products, which is vital to ensuring quality.

OW Bunker Launches Global QC Standard

OW Bunker, suppliers of marine fuels and lubricants worldwide, launch a new standard to ensure the quality of products supplied by its physical division. The move is part of strategy to drive annual global claims below 1%, an unprecedented figure in the bunker industry. In order to achieve this, customers will now be provided with a specification analysis on a minimum of 90% of all physical product orders, delivered prior to the usual testing procedures conducted by an external fuel oil analysis provider.
