TechnipFMC Orders Vallourec Pipes for Mero 1

The provider tubular solutions for the energy markets Vallourec Soluçoes Tubulares do Brasil has been awarded by TechnipFMC in Brazil to supply around 12,000 tons of seamless steel rigid line pipe with outside diameters 8” and 10”.The pipe will be used in the fabrication of the riser and flowline system for interconnecting 13 wells (6 production wells and 7 water alternate gas injection wells), to be installed in the pre-salt field Mero 1, which is part of the giant Libra reservoir.Libra covers an area of 1,550 square kilometers, equivalent to the size of the Brazilian city of São Paulo, with recoverable reserves estimated in the range of 8 to 12 billion of barrels of oil.The Libra Block has been developed under a consortium agreement with Petrobras (40% share) as operator…

Rotterdam Port Calls for North-West Europe Joint CO2 Price

The Port of Rotterdam Authority is calling on the Dutch Government to form a coalition with countries in North-West Europe so that a joint CO2 price can be introduced. At the Port Authority’s Energy in Transition Summit 2018 on the RDM site in Rotterdam, Port Authority CEO Allard Castelein made a powerful case for a much higher CO2 price in conjunction with a new industrial policy for the Netherlands. At the summit, the Port Authority also revealed the results of the CO2 impact of marine and inland shipping. The Port Authority announced that it would introduce an incentive of in total 5 million euros to support vessel owners and charterers that experiment with low-carbon or zero-carbon fuels to promote climate-friendly maritime shipping.

Tata Steel Showcases Deepwater Pipeline Solutions at OTC

Tata Steel will demonstrate at this year’s Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston May 6-9, 2013. Tata Steel’s pipeline packages include double submerged arc welded (DSAW) line pipe, manufactured at the 42-inch mill in Hartlepool, which the manufacturer claims is equipped with the strongest edge crimping and ‘O’ press combination in the world. This enables the manufacture of thicker wall DSAW pipes even in smaller diameters for withstanding the extreme collapse pressures in the deepest waters.

Technip Wins Shell Offshore Contract

Technip is awarded an EPIC contract  for Gannet F reinstatement project, situated in the North Sea. The engineering, procurement, installation and construction (EPIC) contract for the project is located in the North Sea, 180 kilometers east of Aberdeen, at a water depth of 95 meters. •    trenching and installation of an 11.9 kilometer umbilical. Technip’s operating center in Aberdeen, Scotland will execute the contract, which is scheduled to be completed in the second semester of 2013. The Group’s spoolbase in Evanton, Scotland, will fabricate the pipe-in-pipe and DUCO Limited, Technip’s wholly-owned subsidiary in Newcastle, England, will manufacture the umbilical. Technip’s pipelay vessel, Apache II, will be used for the offshore campaign.

Technip Nets Petrobras Equipment Agreement

Technip was awarded a 5-year frame agreement contract from Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) for the supply of around 1,400 kilometers of flexible pipes. The contract is effective today with supply starting in 2013 and orders are guaranteed for at least 50% of the total value, which is currently estimated to be worth around US$2.1 billion. The scope of the contract includes the manufacture of over 150 types and diameters of risers(1), flowlines(2) and associated equipment and accessories. Deliveries under this frame agreement will be spread over the contract period and order intake recognition will progress as specific work orders are confirmed.
