FMC Technologies Receives $140m Contract

FMC Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: FTI) announced on Jan. 15 that it has signed a contract with BP for the manufacture and supply of subsea equipment for the BP and Sonangol Sinopec International Block 18 field development, located offshore Angola. The contract is valued at approximately $140m in revenue for FMC. FMC's scope of supply includes one gas export regulation manifold, foundations and controls, a high-integrity pressure protection system, chokes and two pipeline end manifolds. The equipment will be manufactured in Angola and at FMC's Kongsberg, Norway facility. Deliveries will commence in 2009. "For several years FMC has worked closely with BPā€¦

Seaway Falcon Performs Deepest Pipelay

Stolt Offshore in Houston has successfully completed a deepwater subsea to subsea installation, including one flowline and one umbilical, for Shell's single well Einset project in the Gulf of Mexico, reports Bjorn Koi, Stolt's project manager. "Subsea to subsea installations are 'rare' in the industry but may become more prevalent as we move into deeper waters. To date, most subsea tie-backs have been supported by host platforms in shallower water. "In the case of Einset, we tied back a new deepwater well to existing subsea infrastructure, also located in deepwater. This achievement demonstrates how the industry is applying proven technology while effectively utilizing deepwater construction vessels, such as Stolt's Seaway Falcon," said Koi.

FMC Chosen for Sonatrach Oil Offloading Project

FMC Technologies, Inc. the development of five offshore loading stations for transportation of crude oil and condensate from onshore facilities. The total project scope, valued at approximately $240 million, includes the supply of five SOFEC* CALM (catenary anchor leg mooring) type buoys for export terminals with associated PLEM (Pipeline End Manifolds), as well as onshore and offshore pipelines and onshore facilities, including metering and pumping stations. FMC Technologies plans to subcontract the pipeline design, supply and installation and the onshore facilities to OPE of Houston, Texas. The estimated value of the OPE package is approximately $120 million, making the resulting estimated value of the project to FMC Technologies approximately $120 million.
