TDW Helps Relieve Stress on Riser Offshore Malaysia

T.D. Williamson (TDW) announced that it recently completed a comprehensive pipeline services program for a major offshore operator to assist with efforts to relieve increasing contact stress between a gas export riser and platform jacket offshore East Malaysia. Due to changes in seabed conditions, the platform jacket had moved, producing stress on the gas export riser attached to the platform jacket. The stress was most acute at the contact point between the bracings - or riser clamps - that anchor the riser to the platform structure.

Aubin and Flexlife Partener for Integrity Solutions

Offshore chemical engineering specialist Aubin Group has formed a cooperation agreement with subsea flexible pipe specialist Flexlife to create an industry first in subsea integrity management (IM). Aubin Integrity, a division of Aubin Group, and Flexlife are working together to provide full-service IM solutions to the oil and gas industry. Under the cooperation, Aubin Integrity will supply its development team to create bespoke products and provide offshore personnel for operations.

Pipeline engineering specialist STATS Group said it has appointed two new directors as part of a strategy to increase its international presence in key oil and gas regions. The newly created roles see Dave Vernon promoted to Director of Isolation Services and Dale Millward promoted to Director of EPRS & Subsea Services. STATS Group has appointed two new directors as part of a strategy to double the size of the business. Carl-Petter Halvorsen has joined the pipeline engineering company as business development director while Dave Shand takes up the newly created post of chief operating officer. The dual appointments will strengthen STATS’ management team and free up chief executive officer Pete Duguid to focus on international development of the company’s unique range of piping and isolation tools for the oil and gas industries.

STATS Group Complete Dutch Sector North Sea Isolation Project

Pipeline engineering specialist, STATS Group, has completed an isolation project on a 16” subsea pipeline in the Dutch sector of the North Sea on behalf of Wintershall Noordzee BV. The isolation enabled the client to disconnect a flexible gas export pipeline so it could be replaced with a new rigid gas export pipeline. STATS deployed its Tecno Plug  tool for the isolation which prevented a costly depressurisation of the main trunk line, and reduced environmental impact, costs and production losses.

BP Award STATS Group Global Role

STATS Group has been awarded a global frame agreement by BP to provide pipeline isolation and intervention services. The Aberdeen-based pipeline engineering specialist has worked with BP in the past but this three year agreement formalises the relationship covering all BP’s regional business units. STATS has committed to developing industry best practice by working with BP and three other contracting parties to develop and promote industry standards. Recent projects performed by STATS on BP assets include workscopes in the North Sea, Azerbaijan, Angola and Trinidad.

STATS Group Appoints First Middle East Director

Pipeline engineering company, STATS Group, has appointed Angus Bowie as Regional Director for the Middle East North Africa (MENA) in a move which heralds a major expansion in the region. Mr Bowie was previously Technical Director and has relocated from Aberdeen to Abu Dhabi where he will oversee the opening of new workshop and warehousing facilities and recruiting staff. Pipeline isolation specialist STATS Group has appointed two new directors, as it gears up for major international expansion, following a £7.8 million equity investment. Former Expro executive chairman Graeme Coutts takes on a non-executive role in what is his first appointment since retiring from the global oilfield services company last year. Leigh Howarth, former managing director of Petrofac Training Services, has joined the STATS Group board as chief financial officer. STATS Completes North Sea Platform Platform

Pipeline engineering experts, STATS Group, has completed an isolation project on behalf of AMEC to allow maintenance and replacement works on the North Everest platform in the central North Sea. The workscope covered three maintenance valves and one ESD valve on a 20-inch gas import line onboard the BG-operated platform. After a detailed site survey and piggability study, STATS decided the best solution was to use a tethered Tecno Plug pushed by stem bar to location from a temporary launcher.
