Corvus Energy Opens New US Factory

Washington State Partners Set Out to Build Fast Foil Ferry
A group of public and private partners in Washington have come together to accelerate the design of a fast foil ferry to provide zero-emissions, high-speed passenger ferry service in the Evergreen State.Participants in the Joint Innovation Project include three Washington ports that have joined forces to support the effort: Port of Anacortes, Port of Bellingham and Port of Skagit. The vessel is under design by Glosten, a naval architecture and marine engineering firm, and Bieker Boats, a performance marine craft designer.
Port of Bellingham Announces Shipping Terminal Contract
International cargo vessels are expected to arrive at the Bellingham Shipping Terminal on a regular basis as the result of a new service contract between the Port of Bellingham and Ports America.Ports America entered negotiations with the port after several of its shipping customers requested use of the Bellingham Shipping Terminal. Ports America is the largest terminal operator and stevedore in the United States.âThis is a major turning point for the Bellingham Shipping Terminal,â said Port Commission President Ken Bell. âAs the last Pacific Northwest seaport between the United States and Canada, it was only a matter of time before cargo operators recognized the Bellingham Shipping Terminal as a congestion-free alternative to the docks and terminals serving Vancouver and Seattle.
New Tour Boat for Argosy Cruises
All American Marine, Inc. (AAM), together with Argosy Cruises of Seattle, Wash., has signed a contract for the construction of a 125-foot aluminum monohull tour boat for operation in Puget Soundâs Elliott Bay. This project will mark the first keel laid at All American Marineâs new shipyard currently under construction in Squalicum Harbor at the north edge of Bellingham Bay. Moose Boats is Keeping Busy
U.S. Moose Boats, a boat designer and manufacturer in the San Francisco Bay Area, announced two recent vessel deliveries: a M2-35 Catamaran Patrol Boat to the Placer County Sheriffâs Office in Carnelian Bay, Calif., and a M2-38â 3,000GPM Fire Rescue Catamaran to the Bellingham Fire Department in Bellingham, Wash. The builder has received an additional order to build a M2-38 Catamaran CBRNE Emergency Response and Recovery Vessel for the New Bedford Fire Department in Massachusetts.
All American Marine on Course to Double in Size
The Port of Bellingham is poised to change the layout of 7.66 acres of industrial property in Fairhaven and build new infrastructure to support the expansion of two major waterfront employers, All American Marine and Fairhaven Shipyard. âAll American Marine and Fairhaven Shipyard provide over 150 family-wage jobs to our local communityâ said Port Commission President Dan Robbins. The Port worked closely with both tenants to develop a strategy for improvements which better supports existing operations and plans for future expansion. The entire site is impacted by historic industrial contamination and is scheduled for a major cleanup effort so any suggested changes required additional analysis to ensure compliance with state cleanup regulations.

Moose Boats, a boat designer and manufacturer in the San Francisco Bay Area, has been awarded a contract from Bellingham Fire Department in Washington State for the construction of a M2-38 Catamaran CBRN Emergency Response and Recovery Vessel. The M2-38 aluminum catamaran will be powered by twin Cummins QSB6.7 425hp turbo diesel propulsion engines coupled to Hamilton HJ292 water-jets via TwinDisc 5075SC marine transmissions. Governor Announces First Innovation Partnership Zones
Governor Chris Gregoire announced the designation of 11 Innovation Partnership Zones in Washington, geographic areas that will promote and develop the stateâs regional economies. Innovation Partnership Zones build on the success around the world of âresearch parks,â such as the Research Triangle in North Carolina and Torrey Pines in California and bring together research and higher education opportunities, innovation and economic activity to be a strong engine for regional economies. âWashington is home to some of the greatest innovations in the world and I am excited to support the continued success of our stateâs world-class companies,â said Governor Gregoire.
ACB Expands Facility
ACB has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Jansen Inc. to have a new manufacturing facility built in Ferndale, Wash. Jansen Inc. will provide ACB with 190,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility plus a separate 10,000 sq ft. general office building on the I-5 Industrial Center property in Ferndale. The new facility will allow ACB to increase their annual production capacity to 400 boats to meet the current and future demands of their growing recreational, commercial, and government contracts. As part of their expansion plans, ACB is in the process of executing a new lease for an additional 12,000 square. feet in Fairhaven from the Port of Bellingham. With the additional space, ACB will occupy about 72,000 square feet at the Portâs Fairhaven Marine Industrial Park.

ACB estimates the future growth will bring an additional 290 jobs into Whatcom County. âACB anticipates taking residency of the new facility within 12 months of signing the final contracts with Jansen Inc.
