CMA CGM Set to Launch Guinea Gulf Express

French container transportation and shipping company CMA CGM plans to introduce its new product GUINEA GULF EXPRESS (GGX) service in complement of the current 6 weekly services as part of improving its  offer on the trade Europe and Mediterranean to West Africa strategic markets.The new Guinea Gulf Express is the second service from Gibraltar hubs linking European, Med and North America to Tema, Ghana, Nigeria Lagos port and Conakry, Guinea.It will provide perfect answers to Customers’ needs with transit times amongst the best on the market, the shipping giant claimed."Significant transit time improvement up to 12 days to Tema, 10 days to Tin Can Lagos and 2 days to Conakry.

Douala Cameroon, Antwerp Join Hands

The ports of Antwerp and Douala in Cameroon are to collaborate closely with each other over the next five years. The collaboration agreement was signed on Wednesday this week during an extensive visit by Antwerp port representatives to the port of Douala in Cameroon. Douala port authority  is counting on the Antwerp know-how in order to boost the efficiency of its port operations, among other things. For Antwerp the agreement represents a way to maintain and further strengthen its position as market leader in West and Central Africa. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Cyrus Ngo’o, CEO of the Port Autonome de Douala,and by Marc Van Peel and Kristof Waterschoot…

Mercy Ship Visited by President of Guinea

Professor Alpha Condé, President of Guinea, tours the 'Africa Mercy' hospital ship, docked at the Port of Conakry, the capital of Guinea. Donovan Palmer, Managing Director and International Vice-President of Mercy Ships, the Senior Management Team and over 100 Mercy Ships volunteers were present as a strong demonstration of appreciation and respect to the President and his government for enabling and supporting the Mercy Ships medical mission in Guinea. President Condé expressed his appreciation for how much he had learned about Mercy Ships on his tour.

Mercy Ship Arrives in Guinea

The Port of Conakry in Guinea welcomes the 'Africa Mercy' – the world’s largest private charitable hospital ship. Previous assignments to the West African nation took place in 1992 and 1999. For the next ten months the state-of-the-art hospital ship, with six operating theatres, will provide free specialized surgeries and training for health care workers in Guinea. In response to an invitation from the President of Guinea, the Mercy Ships program strategy is to partner with the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene and other organizations to improve the country’s health care delivery system.
