Done in collaboration with Ocean Alliance, the routes named RSS and RES will commence operations in March 2018, superseding the current three services RSS, RS3 and RS5. The route will be operated with a series of 17 x 11,000 to 14,000TEU vessels including its latest newbuilds, the 11,923TEU P Class in the service. The highly efficient and versatile P Class were purpose-built for Red Sea, with a ballast water treatment system fitted onboard and various energy saving measures implemented in its design. Strong winds, high waves and toxic gases are hindering dozens of rescue boats struggling to locate missing sailors from a stricken oil tanker in the East China Sea and to extinguish a fire that has burned for the past three days on the ship. The poor conditions, with rain and waves as high as 3 metres (10 feet), frustrated efforts to tame the fire and search for the 31 remaining tanker crew members, China's Ministry of Transport said in a statement on Tuesday. The flames were forcing the South Korean Coast Guard's search and rescue team to stay as far as 3 miles (4.8 km) away from the tanker, two South Korean officials told Reuters.

Moody's Investors Service says that the announcement by China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of a cut in the handling tariff for import and export containers is credit negative for Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd (SIPG), but will not immediately affect SIPG's A1 issuer rating or the A2 backed senior unsecured bond ratings of Shanghai Port Group (BVI) Holding Co., Ltd. The ratings outlook remains stable. Chinese bulker Bao Jiang 88 capsized and sank in Jinshan Fairway, near Yangshan Port of Shanghai while enroute from Ningbo to Nanjing with 4,600 tons of ore concentrates. 12 crew went into life raft and were rescued by a nearby cargo ship. Vessel loaded with 4600 of ore was en route to Nanjing. Reports say the cause of the capsizing was due to improper trimming of cargo. The local authorities started investigation for the root cause of the accident. According to preliminary information and witness evidences the ship capsized after cargo shift, caused by not trimmed product in the holds. Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration has notified nearby vessels to avoid the wreck site and local authorities have started investigations into the incident.
