Servowatch Technology Puts Cathelco BWTS Ahead

Significant Progress on Perth Wave Energy Project

Wave energy developer Carnegie Wave Energy Limited has provided an update on the recent progress of the Perth Wave Energy Project. Carnegie has made significant progress on the assembly and testing stage of the Perth Wave Energy Project in advance of the project’s final commissioning and operation phase. Noteworthy recent progress includes the completion of the offshore preparations in advance of the deployment of the CETO unit, completion of construction of the onshore plant including installation of all power generation and conditioning equipment on Garden Island, and nearing completion of the testing of the CETO units. Over the past months, Carnegie has been working through a rigorous program of integration testing of the CETO units in advance of offshore installation and commissioning.

ABB Controls Production Systems Aboard Giant FPSO

Floating Production Storage & Offloading ship uses ABB systems to control entire production from reservoir to wellhead to vessel. FPSO Peregrino, one of the biggest, most technologically advanced oil production ships in the world, was converted at a cost of more than US$1-billion from a VLCC tankship to function as a FPSO having been acquired by Statoil and permanently moored off the coast of Brazil. This FPSO vessel has a daily production capacity of 100,000 barrels of oil, 350,000 barrels of liquid and 7.3 million standard cubic feet of gas.

Ship Scrapping – Recycle Circuit Boards, Electronic Equipment

Boliden is currently ramping up a new plant adjacent to its existing electronic scrap recycling facility at the Rönnskär copper smelter in northern Sweden - an expansion that will almost triple recycling capacity from 45,000 metric tons to 120,000 metric tons a year, making it the largest e-scrap recycling facility in the world. Rönnskär is an integrated metallurgical complex, which smelts and refines metals from mined copper concentrates and from recyclable materials like metal shred and electronic scrap.
