US Awards More than $653 Million for Port Projects

Exmar USD 23mln Richer After Excel Sale

The Belgian gas tanker company Exmar has sold its liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker Excel for $ 23 million. "Exmar is pleased to announce the sale of the LNG carrier Excel (138,107 m³). The 2003 built Excel has been delivered to its new owners on 6th of October 2017," said a press statement from the company. The net cash proceeds realized by Exmar  for its 50% share in the joint venture will be approximately USD 23 million, it added. Exmar Shipmanagement NV provides management services for a range of ships such as gas carriers, oil tankers, bulk carriers, container vessels, and floating units. The Company also offers additional services including procurement services, technical and marine consultancy and assistance, sale and purchase inspection, and plan approval services.

Aibel Bags Greater Enfield Project Contract

Aibel Pte Ltd in Singapore has been awarded the E&P contract for modifications on Woodside Energy Ltd’s Nguijma-Yin floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) off Western Australia. The FPSO will undergo modifications to the topsides, hull and turret, along with installation of a new Custom Water Flood module. The contract includes both detailed marine and topsides engineering and procurement services as well as commissioning services. At the peak the Greater Enfield Project will engage more than 100 employees. The work will be executed by Aibel`s office in Singapore. The contract is expected to commence in July this year and is presently targeted to be completed January 2019. Greater Enfield is located 60 km off Exmouth in Western Australia.

Wood Group Bags Statoil MSA

Wood Group has been awarded an evergreen master services agreement (MSA) by Statoil to support the life cycles of its offshore  and onshore facilities. Work and services covered by the MSA include  engineering studies, detailed engineering, procurement services and management  assistance services. “This MSA reflects Wood Group’s  strong relationship with Statoil,” stated Robin Watson, chief executive. Wood Group has supported Statoil for  many years. Recent work includes four  subsea contracts, support for the Statoil Technical Efficiency Programme (STEP),  and providing maintenance and modification services to four installations on  the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS).

Technip Wins Jurong's FPSO Conversion Contract

Technip has been awarded a topsides detailed engineering and procurement services contract by Jurong Shipyard Pte Ltd. The project is part of the conversion of a shuttle tanker into a floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, which is built at the Jurong Shipyard, located in Singapore. Technip will build on its experience in full range of offshore acilities to design the FPSO’s topsides. The FPSO will be based in the Libra field, offshore Brazil, at a water depth of approximately 2,500 meters. Once completed, it will have a capacity of 50,000 barrels of oil per day and 4 million cubic meters of natural gas per day. Technip’s operating center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will execute the contract which is scheduled for completion during the second semester of 2016.

Masterbulk, SeaSafe Ink Lifeboat Service Deal

Masterbulk Singapore has entered into a five-year global sole service supplier agreement with the Wallem Group’s lifeboat maintenance service company, SeaSafe Marine. The agreement is for lifeboat services on Masterbulk’s fleet of 20 open hatch gantry crane vessels. SeaSafe Marine’s current client list includes companies from across the maritime sector such as cruise, tankers and bulk carriers. “We have engineers based in Hong Kong and China, who regularly travel around the world to deliver our services.

Foster Wheeler Signs Agreement With BOC to Replace Heat Exchangers

Foster Wheeler AG announced today that a subsidiary of its Global Engineering and Construction Group has signed an engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCm) services agreement with BOC, a member of the Linde Group, for the installation of replacement heat exchangers at BOC’s Teesport facility, Teesside, in northeast England. The Foster Wheeler contract value was not disclosed and was included in the company’s first-quarter 2014 bookings. Under this agreement, Foster Wheeler will provide project management, front-end engineering design, detailed engineering design, procurement services, construction supervision and quality assurance for the replacement of existing aluminium plate fin exchangers in the 1,300 tons per day air separation plant.

Craig International Supplies Wins Large Contract

The oilfield procurement services company has been awarded a three year contract with BG in the North Sea worth between £3million and £4million. Under the contract, CIS, which has bases in Aberdeen, Cape Town and Houston, will procure a wide range of oilfield consumables and tools and provide procurement services, ensuring necessary supplies are delivered on time and on budget to BGÂ’s assets in the UKCS. CIS, which operates globally, has reported record sales in 2012. With a turnover of £37million, the company provides an extensive range of products and services to the global energy industry and has a buying power approaching £3million per month. As a result the company says it passes on significant savings to its customers, creating a competitive advantage.

Aker Solutions to Deliver Services to Kvaerner's Contract

On May 3, 2012 Kvaerner ASA announced its intent to use Aker Solutions as a sub-contractor for its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the topside for the Edvard Grieg platform (formerly Luno). The field is operated by the Swedish oil and gas exploration and production company Lundin. Aker Solutions will deliver design engineering and procurement services from the company's offices in Oslo, Norway and Mumbai, India, with support from Kvaerner. Fabrication and assembly of the 4 500 tonne process module will be conducted by Aker Solutions' yard in Egersund.

Technip Awarded Offshore Contract In The United Arab Emirates

Technip was awarded an engineering services contract by ZADCO*  for  the UZ 750 project,  one  of  the  major  offshore  field  development  projects  in  the  United  Arab Emirates. The  project  aims  at  increasing  by  2015  the  oil  production  of  the  Upper Zakum  field  (located  in  the  Gulf,  84  kilometers  offshore  Abu  Dhabi)  to  750,000 barrels of oil per day and to sustain this production target for at least 25 years. ·  procurement services for long lead items. Web-based Procurement Management Systems Standardize Purchasing Procedures, Increase Transaction Oversight and Streamline Accounting Processes for the U.S. The Defense Energy Support Center (DESC), a field activity of the Defense Logistics Agency and an agency within the U.S. Government Department of Defense, is responsible for the procurement of all energy-related resources in support of the warfighters of the U.S. DESC program management began implementing card programs for the purchase of ground and aviation fuel in the mid-1990s. The success of these programs led to the formal creation of the Government Fuel Card Program Office in 2006. The department’s focus was to implement, manage, and improve fuel procurement services offered by the DESC.

J. Ray, Keppel FELS Joint Venture

J. Ray McDermott will undertake fabrication and installation work for the P-61 Tension Leg Wellhead Platform (TLWP) in more than 3,871 feet of water, for the Papa Terra Joint Venture, consisting of Petrobras (operator) and Chevron. The overall P-61 project — comprising design, engineering, construction, transportation, installation, and a three-year limited operations contract — was awarded to FloaTEC Singapore Pte Ltd (FloaTEC Singapore), a joint venture between Keppel FELS Ltd (Keppel FELS) and J. Ray. Almost all the work will be carried out through the combined resources of Keppel FELS, J. Ray and FloaTEC LLC (FloaTEC), the US-based joint venture company that will perform global engineering and basic design work.

ShipConstructor User Expands Business

ShipConstructor Software Inc. client, Navtech Canada Inc., is enjoying a twenty-five per cent rise in revenues. Navtech is a naval architecture firm situated in the heart of old Quebec City at the mouth of the St. Lawrence River. The scope of their service includes naval architecture, marine engineering, brokerage and maritime surveys. Their latest project is a ferry consisting of 5,000 parts, all of which were designed in ShipConstructor, did not require any adjustments and fit perfectly, thus enabling the shop floor to reduce waste. Barbeau explains that by using ShipConstructor, Navtech can go into deeper detail with designs, an attribute reflected by the ease of construction and the high quality of the finished product.

McDermott, Bay Begin Alliance at Harbor Island Facility

J. Ray McDermott, Inc., a subsidiary of McDermott International, Inc., and Bay Ltd. have formed a strategic alliance to pursue fabrication projects in the offshore oil and gas industry, using McDermott's Harbor Island facility near Corpus Christi, Texas. Under the alliance, J. Ray McDermott will provide overall project management, engineering and procurement services, as well as the assembly areas, lifting equipment dredged slip and bulkhead at Harbor Island. Bay, which is the largest non-government employer of skilled craftspeople in the Coastal Bend area of Texas, will provide fabrication and construction services, labor, and equipment to support fabrication of large platform topsides at Harbor Island. Both companies are recognized as safety leaders in the construction industry.

Keppel FELS Limited, the offshore arm of Keppel FELS Energy & Infrastructure Ltd., and ENSCO International Inc. have entered in an alliance agreement to build, own and operate an enhanced KFELS MOD V jack-up rig, with an estimated value of US$130 million. ENSCO 102, respectively. Keppel FELS is responsible for the engineering and building of the rig, while ENSCO provides procurement services and is responsible for the project management during the construction of the rig. ENSCO will have the option to purchase the remaining 75% interest in the rig from Keppel FELS until two years after delivery of the rig. The option price for the period up to the delivery of the rig will be based on the final price payable to Keppel FELS for the construction of the rig.

Engineering Services Contract Established Between BP and Aker Kvaerner

Aker Kvaerner Netherlands B.V., part of the Aker Kvaerner Group, has received a letter of intent, based on Contract Terms currently being finalised, to perform Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management Services (EPCm) for major BP Petrochemical and Refining sites in Germany. Under this contract Aker Kvaerner will perform Engineering, Procurement services and Construction Management services for small and medium size projects at the BP sites in Gelsenkirchen, Köln, and Marl with an option for Lingen also to participate. The duration for this agreement is five years with the possibility of further extension in terms of locations and duration. "This is an important and strategic frame agreement for Aker Kvaerner," says Jarle Tautra, executive vice president in Aker Kvaerner.

COSCO Investment Seeks New Opportunities

COSCO Investment (Singapore) Ltd. is looking at opportunities to invest in the shipping business in China and in Southeast Asia. These opportunities involve "outright purchase or co-investment," COSCO said. It noted that it had already located potential targets and started negotiations with relevant parties in China, but no final agreements have been reached. "It is intended that investments in shipping-related businesses in China will form a very significant part of COSCO Investment's business in the future," it said. The group said it would continue to expand its core dry bulk shipping business, and was close to reaching an agreement to sign contracts to take delivery of another two new ships in April and August.

Hyundai Mipo Expands Navy Yard contract

A South Korean shipbuilder said that it will be building additional tankers and container ships at the old Philadelphia Navy Yard. The parent of Aker Philadelphia Shipyard Inc. said its expanded deal with Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. Ltd. covers an additional six tankers as well as exclusive rights for container ships. Under a 2004 deal, Hyundai Mipo has been providing design and procurement services for a series of 10 tankers currently under construction in Philadelphia. Aker Philadelphia Shipyard and its parent, Aker American Shipping Inc., are part of the Norway-based Aker group of oil services, engineering, construction and shipbuilding companies. Source: AP

Aker Kvaerner Secures Contract from BP

AK Engineering Services, part of the Aker Kvaerner group, has secured a multi-million pound contract to service two major onshore facilities for BP in the UK. The work will be performed by personnel from the firm's Stockton facility and from sister organisations in Aberdeen and Solent over the next three years. The scope of work covers the provision of engineering, modifications and maintenance services at BP's Wytch Farm production and transport facility in Dorset, and at the BP CATS (Central Area Transmission System) gas terminal on Teesside, North East England. The contract includes three further two-year extension options. Around 150 personnel from the three locations will be employed on the project.
