McDermott Wins PEMEX Installation Contract

McDermott International, Inc. has been awarded a contract to install the offshore jacket, deck and piles for the Ayatsil-A drilling platform for PEMEX Exploracion y Produccion in the Bay of Campeche Ayatsil field. Keppel to Operate Mexican Yard with PEMEX

Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) has strengthened its foothold in the offshore and marine industry in Mexico with the signing of an MOU (memorandum of understanding) with PEMEX Exploracion y Produccion (PEP) and P.M.I. Norteamérica, S.A. de C.V. (PMI), both subsidiaries of Mexico's national oil company, Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX). The MOU is to jointly develop, own and operate a yard facility in Mexico, the first phase of which is to support the construction of six KFELS B class jackup drilling rigs for PEP. McDermott Awarded Pemex Platform Contract

McDermott International, Inc. has announced  that one of its subsidiaries has received a letter of award for a turnkey contract for the PB-Litoral-A production platform for PEMEX Exploracion y Produccion in the Litoral Tabasco Tsimin-Xux fields. The value is approximately US$ 230 million and will be included in McDermott's fourth quarter 2012 backlog. “This project reaffirms our Altamira, Mexico fabrication facility as a key player for both domestic and international offshore construction projects,” said Steven W. Roll, Vice President and General Manager, Atlantic region. McDermott’s global resources support turnkey engineering, procurement, construction and installation (“EPCI”) solutions and offer Pemex the most competitive solution for the PB-Litoral-A production platform.

Keppel Expands Foothold in Mexican Offshore Market

Keppel FELS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), has won a contract from PEMEX Exploracion y Produccion, a subsidiary of Mexico's national oil company, Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), to build two KFELS B Class jackup rigs worth US$420 million. Scheduled for delivery in 1Q 2015, the high specification rigs will be the 19th and 20th KFELS B Class rigs on order at Keppel, with 36 already delivered in the past decade. When completed, the two rigs will join a number of KFELS B Class jackup rigs built by Keppel for Mexican customers. This includes the Primus jackup rig recently delivered to Oro Negro as well as the Tonala rig operated by Peforadora Central.

Horizon Offshore Granted Pipeline Construction Component

An alliance of which Horizon Offshore is a member has been granted a contract for the EPC 64 project from Pemex Exploracion y Produccion. The project's workscope, which entails the installation, bury, hook-up and commissioning of seven pipelines in the Cantarell Field, call for Horizon to provide all marine construction. With work set to commence during August, the company will utilize one of its pipelay barges, Gulf Horizon, for laying the 12-, 20- and 24-in. pipelines. In addition, Horizon's bury barge, Canyon Horizon, will perform jetting operations to bury the newly installed pipelines and will perform the activities related with crossing existing pipelines.

Horizon Receives Pemex Contract in Mexico

Horizon Offshore’s subsidiaries, HOC Offshore S. de R.L. de C.V. and Horizon Offshore Contractors, Inc. jointly received a letter of award for the KU-MALOOB-ZAAP project from Pemex Exploracion y Produccion. The project calls for installation, tie-in, and associated topside hookup works of four pipelines. Horizon will utilize its lay barge Lone Star Horizon on the project. Construction is scheduled to begin late in the third-quarter of 2005. “Despite having experienced economic difficulties during a period of lower demand for our services, we have maintained good relationships with all of our major customers, including Pemex,” said David Sharp, President and CEO of Horizon Offshore, Inc. successfully complete major construction projects.
