Verus Petroleum Mulls 12-Fold Production Growth

Aberdeen, UK-based Verus Petroleum has secured a 12-fold increase in its production – from 1,500 to 18,000 barrels per day in less than a year – with the closing of three recent acquisitions on the UK Continental Shelf.A press release from the petroleum exploration and production services provider said that it  has recently completed three significant acquisitions; an interest in the Babbage gas field acquired from Premier Oil on 6th December, on the back of completing transactions to acquire Cieco Exploration & Production (UK) Limited and Equinor’s Alba field interest in November.The private equity backed independent operator said that these three deals, each with an economic date of 1st January 2018, were funded by a combination of equity, existing cash reserves and debt.

Maersk Oil Orders FSO from MODEC

Maersk Oil North Sea UK limited has contracted MODEC, Inc. to supply a floating storage and offloading (FSO) vessel for the Culzean development project in the U.K. Central North Sea. The contract awards MODEC responsibility for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of the FSO, while the internal turret mooring system will be designed and supplied by MODEC subsidiary SOFEC, Inc. The FSO will feature receiving capacity of 25,000 barrels of condensate per day, with storage capacity of 350,000 barrels. MODEC president and CEO, Toshiro Miyazaki, noted that the new contract represents a milestone for the company as it marks MODEC's entry into the North Sea oil and gas industry. MODEC said it expects to deliver the complete unit to Maersk Oil UK in the first half of 2018.

Technip Wins Subsea Contract on Triton FPSO

Technip has been awarded a brownfield subsea contract for the Triton(1) floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, operated by Dana Petroleum, located in the central North Sea. This FPSO vessel is located 193 kilometers east of Aberdeen, at a water depth of approximately 90 meters. It produces oil and gas from different fields - Bittern, Guillemot West and North West, Clapham, Pict and Saxon, which are tied back to the FPSO vessel via subsea facilities comprising a series of pipelines and manifolds.  additional installation, repair and maintenance works. Technip’s operating center in Aberdeen, United Kingdom (UK), will execute this contract which is a continuation of similar work successfully completed in 2014.

Statoil Orders Emergency Vessel

Statoil (U.K.) Limited has awarded a contract to Sentinel Marine Limited to provide a new multi role Emergency Response & Rescue Vessel (ERRV) to support operations on the Mariner field on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS). Sentinel Marine is an Aberdeen-based company, owning and operating offshore support vessels in the oil and gas marine industry. The new 65 metre ship, to be named “Mariner Sentinel”, will be custom built for Statoil and provide emergency cover, oil spill response preparedness and tanker assist capabilities for the Mariner field. The ERRV contract with Sentinel Marine has a fixed duration of five years, commencing in July 2016, and also includes five one-year extension options.

Statoil Awards Mariner Contracts to UK Suppliers

Statoil (U.K.) Limited has awarded the maintenance and modification services contract for the Mariner field to Aker Solutions UK. The offshore services contract has been awarded to Stork Technical Services Limited, also based in the UK. Aker Solutions will perform the services for the Mariner field under a five-year contract, anticipated to start in August this year. Stork will commence services in January 2015, also under a five-year term. Both contracts include two 2-year extension options. The Mariner platform is currently under construction and production is scheduled to start in 2017. The contracts will support a significant number of the 700 onshore and offshore positions planned for the Mariner field.

Statoil (UK) Limited has awarded Aker Solutions UK with the maintenance and modification services contract for the Mariner field. Likewise, the offshore services contract was awarded to Stork Technical Services Limited (UK). Chevron's UK Offshore Rosebank Project Update

Chevron Corporation announce that its U.K. subsidiary has entered front-end engineering and design (FEED) on the Rosebank oil and gas project in the West of Shetland region. The Chevron-operated Rosebank project is located approximately 80 miles (130 kilometers) northwest of the Shetland Islands, in water depths of approximately 3,700 feet (1,100 meters). The project will include a floating production, storage and offloading vessel, production and water injection wells, subsea facilities, and a gas export pipeline. “Rosebank is an important project for Chevron and the West of Shetland region, which holds a significant portion of the U.K.’s undeveloped oil and gas resources,” said Brenda Dulaney, managing director, Chevron Upstream Europe.

TENC-CA UK North Sea Sale & Transfer

Shell U.K. Limited (Shell),Esso Exploration and Production UK Limited, (ExxonMobil), Mobil North Sea LLC (ExxonMobil) and Enterprise Oil U.K. Limited (Shell) completed the final sale and transfer of a number of northern North Sea assets to TAQA Bratani Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA) on Dec. 1, 2008. The assets include equity and operatorship of Tern, Kestrel, Eider, Pelican, Cormorant North and South Cormorant fields (TENC-CA) and related infrastructure, a non-operated interest in Hudson, and equity interests in the Sullom Voe Terminal and Brent System. TAQA Bratani will assume responsibility for the decommissioning liabilities relating to these fields and infrastructure.
