Ampelmann Secures Six New Contracts in US Offshore Wind Market

Dutch offshore crew transfer equipment specialist Ampelmann said Tuesday it had signed six new contracts in the offshore wind market in the United States for 2023, 2024, and 2025.The contracts set for 2023 have been secured for work on two new offshore wind farms being built off New England's coast."In the coming year, Ampelmann’s motion compensated gangways will assist with the hook-up, cabling and commissioning of turbines on Vineyard and Southfork wind farms, two of the first commercial offshore wind farms in the USA that will provide clean energy to the region…

Construction of the U.S. Navy’s second Gerald Ford class aircraft carrier has reached its midway point following the installation of one of the ship’s largest units.Huntington Ingalls Industries’ (HII) Newport News Shipbuilding said it has installed one of the heaviest of the planned steel structures, known as superlifts, that will be joined together to make up nuclear-powered aircraft carrier John F. Trieste Terminal Selects N4 TOS

Navis has announced a new N4 terminal operating system (TOS) licensing agreement with Italian terminal, Trieste Marine Terminal (TMT). TMT selected the Navis TOS to optimize the terminal’s operational cycle and lower costs. The ultimate goal is to increase TMT’s efficiencies so customers can experience improved productivity. Trieste Marine Terminal located in Trieste, Italy is the only specialized container terminal, providing unique services for container traffic that moves through the North Adriatic Sea.

L&T's Shipbuilding Installs PLM Solution

L&T will adopt integrated PLM solutions from Dassault Systemes for its heavy engineering division. The solutions will integrate L&T's stand-alone design automation and project management tools, increasing efficiency and savings potential across the division. DS's end-to-end PLM solution will be implemented by L&T's IT arm - L&T Infotech. L&T will apply DS's solutions to processes for the shipbuilding business segment. The deployment includes: CATIA, for designing the virtual product; ENOVIA VPLM, 3D collaborative virtual lifecycle management for highly complex products, resource and manufacturing processes; and ENOVIA MatrixOne, collaborative product development business processes for enterprises.
