ITOCHU Working with Amogy to Explore Ammonia Fuel for Vessels

Ammonia-to-power solutions provider Amogy announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Japan-based global trading and import/export company ITOCHU Corporation to explore the potential application of Amogy’s technology on ITOCHU’s maritime vessels.Amogy has developed a modularized system that transforms liquid ammonia into electrical power. This innovative technology involves “cracking” liquid ammonia into its base elements of hydrogen and nitrogen. The hydrogen is then funneled into a fuel cell for efficient generation of electricity onboard a vessel.

James Fisher Subtech has chartered the multipurpose offshore vessel Olympic Taurus from Olympic Subsea with plans to use it in the UK offshore energy industry.The Olympic Taurus has already been mobilized for work from Montrose Port, Aberdeenshire, and fitted with a work class remotely operated vehicle (WROV), in support of an unexploded ordnance (UXO) identification, survey, and disposal campaign in the North Sea with an unnamed client.The campaign is expected to end in early May.This is JF Subtech's second chartered vessel for 2023 after Edda Savanah…

James Fisher Charters 'Go Electra' for North Sea UXO, IMR Work

Subsea services provider James Fisher has chartered Go Marine Group's multi-purpose service vessel Go Electra for UXO identification services and IMR projects in the North Sea.The vessel will be used by James Fisher group companies James Fisher Renewables (JF Renewables) and James Fisher Subtech (JF Subtech) for the rest of 2022."The long-standing agreement will see quicker response times and tailored health and safety standards implemented, as well as stabilized and reliable day rates for customers.

Rhonda I. Zygocki Retires from Chevron

Chevron Corporation announced today that Rhonda I. Zygocki, executive vice president, Policy and Planning, has elected to retire from the company after 34 years of outstanding service effective Feb. 1, 2015. The company also said it is making new reporting assignments for several executives. "Over the course of her career, Rhonda made many significant contributions to our business and distinguished herself as one of our most versatile and proven leaders," said John Watson, Chevron's chairman and chief executive officer. Zygocki is a native of St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. She began her career in petroleum engineering with Chevron Canada Resources in Calgary after graduating in 1980 from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.

MAN & Statoil Sign Turbo-machinery Agreements

MAN Diesel & Turbo, Switzerland, signs to provide Norway's Statoil with new subsea compressor equipment & maintenance services. The Zurich-based MAN Diesel & Turbo Schweiz AG and Statoil have followed a joint subsea compressor qualification programme since 2005. In early 2011 Aker Solutions ASA, Statoil’s main contractor for the Asgard subsea project, awarded a contract to MAN to build the world's first subsea compressors for gas production on the sea floor.
