US Works with Firms in Supply Chains to Ease Port Congestion

DP World Opens London Gateway Logistics Centre
DP World's first distribution centre at the London Gateway Logistics Park opened officially, with the UK's shipping minister, Robert Goodwill MP, in attendance. Goodwill and DP World chairman, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, formalised the opening of the centre during a ribbon cutting ceremony. The first phase of this high tech unit, which comprises 16,800m² (180,000 sq ft) of distribution and logistics space and 2,400m² (25,000 sq ft) of office space, has been finished to BREEAM “very good” standard. Based on market demand, DP World is now planning to increase the size of the centre to 36,000m². “DP World London Gateway is an excellent example of the benefits inward investment brings to UK infrastructure and the economy.
London Gateway Logistics Park Breaks Ground
A ground-breaking ceremony was held at DP World’s London Gateway Logistics Park to mark the start of construction on a 316,000 square foot distribution facility. The building is being developed speculatively as an equal joint venture between DP World, one of the world’s largest port operators, and Prologis, the global leader in industrial real estate. Hammond Commends DP World London Gateway
The UK’s Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport and Wimbledon MP, Rt. Hon. Stephen Hammond MP has paid a visit to DP World London Gateway to congratulate the team on their success. Second Berth Opens at DP World London Gateway
New shipping services are being announced as the second berth at DP World London Gateway opens for business. Britain’s newest port doubled its capacity as the second berth began operations in May. Five new shipping routes to North America, South America East Coast and West Coast, the Middle East and Europe are starting. New rail, road and container services are also announced. The G6, one of the world’s largest shipping alliances, will start a new service at DP World London Gateway on Friday, May 16.
