Port Operator ICTSI to Double Capacity at Congo Terminal

HHLA Group Revenue Up 9.6 %

German logistics and transportation company Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) said that it has closed the first half of 2019 with rising revenue and results, despite a challenging market environment.Container throughput increased moderately, due in particular to the successful integration of the Estonian terminal operator HHLA TK Estonia, which was acquired last year. A significant rise in container transport was achieved, said a press release.In conjunction with a strong increase in revenue in the Logistics segment and a once again moderate increase in revenue from property management, this led to total revenue of € 693.7 million (+ 9.6 %).

HHLA's Earnings Up in Q1 2019

German terminal operator Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) revenue increases by 10.3 % in the first quarter of 2019, despite a challenging market environment, said the company.Container throughput increased slightly, partly due to the successful integration of the Estonian terminal operator HHLA TK Estonia last year. Extremely positive performance in container transport and property management led to a revenue of € 347.6 million (+ 10.3 %).The operating result (EBIT) was far above the level of last year, increasing by € 11.8 million or 24.5 % to € 59.7 million. Royal Caribbean Deploys ElevenOS on Entire Fleet

Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation has approved the sale of 100% of the shares of OAO Archangel Trawler Fleet, reports Russia's 'Arctic-Info'. Citing the Federal Agency for State Property Management, Arctic-Info reports that Archangel Trawler Fleet was owned by the state, and was sold to private company Wirma, which is one of the largest fishing enterprises in the North-Western Federal District. During public auction, Wirma offered to buy the trawler fleet at 2.2 billion rubles instead of the initial amount of 1.82 billion.

Northern Sea Route Carrier to be Privatised

The Russian state-owned stake in Murmansk Shipping Company (MSCO) will be privatised by the end of 2013. MSCO assets are composed of fleets of three shipping companies: Murmansk Shipping Company (Murmansk), Northern Sea Shipping Company (Arkhangelsk) and Northern River Shipping Company (Arkhangelsk). The company handles up to 80% of all cargo transported via the Northern Sea Route, reports Barents Nova. Privatisation of a state-owned 25.5% stake will be completed by the end of 2013 reports Barents Nova citing a recent meeting of the Transport Ministry.

SpecTec to Purchase 20% MarineXchange

SpecTec Group, IT supplier to the merchant and cruise shipping markets, has recently acquired a 20% share in MarineXChange Software GmbH. MarineXchange is a provider of enterprise resource management software to the cruise industry. "The two companies have collaborated for several years already, and our software portfolios and philosophies complement each other very well", said Giampiero Soncini, CEO of SpecTec Group. MarineXchange software can also be used for the food and beverage management of large fleets, as well as for land based hotels. MarineXchange software runs at the office and remote installations such as ships, hotels and warehouses. VT Group Buys Training Firm

Shipbuilding and support services supplier VT Group PLC bought training company Touchstone Learning and Skills Ltd for $20.9 million. VT acquired the work-based training provider, which specializes in the retail sector, from Martin Loftus and Touchstone Property Management Ltd. Southampton-based VT is paying $1.3 million in cash on completion and $19.6 in loan notes. Touchstone has annual profits of more than $1.7 million, operates primarily through UK government-funded contracts with the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and has offices in several locations across England. VT, which already works in the hospitality, leisure, engineering and care sectors, said the acquisition would allow it to move into the retail market. (Source: Forbes)

M/s Zuiderdam, with a capacity of 1848 passengers, is the first of the Vista class vessels to be installed with the latest version of the Fidelio Cruise Ship's Property Management System offering an integrated management system to the vessel. Working closely with Holland America Line's in-house IT department, the team of Fidelio Cruise and Micros POS implementation specialists completed the installation process in time for the vessel's maiden voyage.
