Year of the C-Dragon

With an eye on the growing Intra-Asian trade routes Germanischer Lloyd (GL) developed a novel container vessel design concept: the C-Dragon. The C-Dragon Design Concept

The importance of Intra-Asian trade routes continues to grow as the region's economies continue to expand. Asian container traffic, in particular, is projected to be the fastest growing sector in the world for the next several years. In response to this Germanischer Lloyd (GL) has developed a novel container vessel design concept for this region: the C-Dragon concept. GL unveiled this new concept with the international maritime community at Nor-Shipping 2013. C-Dragon measures 211.9 meters in length between perpendiculars and 37.3 meters in width with a loading capacity of 3,736 TEU.

BV Close in Offshore Wind Agreement

Bureau Veritas says an innovative decision support system for the structural maintenance of Floating Offshore Wind Turbines (FOWTs) is close to being finalised. The initiative could result in significant cost and energy saving for all types of renewable marine energy farms.
