TankerTrackers Locates Seized Tanker off Iran's Qeshm Island

Iran-Muscat Ferry Soon

Iran Approves 8 New Offshore Projects

Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) of Iran has announced the approval of the Marine Structures Licensing Committee with the extension and licensing of operation for 8 offshore structures in the north and south of the country.The Director General of the Ports Engineering of PMO Mohammad Khalili stated that after reviewing the applicants' documents, which were obtained through the Comprehensive Management and Monitoring System of the Iranian Coast, the committee approved with establishment of 4 recreational dock in Guilan province and 2  Dock post at Qeshm Island.He also cited renewal of construction permit for SPM installation in Qeshm Island…

109 Vessels Ready for Iranian New Year

109 Vessels vessels with a capacity of 6000 passengers ready for Nowruz, the Iranian New Year, also known as the Persian New Year.“800 hundred executives providing 24-hour services in Marine Travel Facility plan during Nowruz” said Allah Morad Afifipour, Director General of Ports and Maritime of Hormozgan.Afifipour said in a statement that there are 49 passenger vessels with 5,361 seats and 59 landing craft with caspacity of 1,960 vehicles.Of these, four thousand and 90 seats are available in the port of Shahid Haghani and majority o9f landing crafts are in Bandar-e-Pul and Lahat.This Nowruz is the second year in which guests take on board, and this is welcomed by Marine guests.

First Offshore Bunkering Service Launched

Iran has launched its first offshore bunkering service at an anchorage south of the Qeshm island free trade zone in the Gulf. Singapore-based Global Energy provides the services in cooperation with the National Iranian Tanker Company (NITC) and National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC). Ahmad Hakim, a senior official in Qeshm, said that the floating anchorage, set up nine miles southwest of Qeshm, had begun its services earlier this month, having already fuelled several international tankers. Located near the main shipping lanes in the Gulf, the new anchorage has a capacity of four billion tons. Hakim said services would remain on a small scale until more business is attracted. He said the island planned to offer other shipping services such as food and water delivery and those for crew change.
