CNOOC Buys Two Carbon-neutral LNG Cargoes from Shell

China National Offshore Oil Corp, or CNOOC, has agreed to buy from Royal Dutch Shell two cargoes of liquefied natural gas with offset carbon emissions, marking China's first gas imports of this kind, said the Shanghai Oil and Gas Exchange.CNOOC and Shell will use carbon credits won in projects in China's northwest Xinjiang and Qinghai region to offset the carbon emissions involved in producing and consuming the two gas cargoes, the exchange said in a statement on Sunday.CNOOC will auction the two cargoes at the Shanghai exchange.

Cosco Opens New International Hainan-ASEAN Liner Route

The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) and COSCO Shipping  'Hainan-ASEAN (Singapore)' Liner Route, co-hosted by Hainan Provincial People’s Government and COSCO Shipping, was launched at Hainan Yangpu Xiaochantan Terminal owned by Hainan Harbor & Shipping Holding.Hainan Governor Shen Xiaoming announced the launch of the maiden voyage.The “Hainan-ASEAN (Singapore)” Liner Route opens a direct passage through which goods from China’s western regions can be shipped southward to Singapore via Yangpu Port, as well as a new channel for transferring cargo from China’s coastal ports to Southeast Asia via Yangpu.It declares that Yangpu Port in Hainan has turned to a new pivot of ILSTC and marks that ILSTC…

China's Century Cruises Adds to Yangtze River Fleet

Century adds a 7th luxury river cruise ship, 'Century Legend' to its Yangtze fleet. The new 398-passenger Century Legend is a sister ship to the Century Paragon, which came into service earlier this year. These new inland waterway cruise ships were designed by European naval architecture firm Yran & Storbratten, which has done design work for a number of cruise lines, including Disney Cruises, Seabourn, Holland America, Viking River Cruises. According to Wikipedia, the Yangtze is the longest river in Asia, and the third longest in the world.
