Semiramis Paliou Named CEO of Diana Shipping

Semiramis Paliou has been named chief executive officer of Greek dry bulk shipowner Diana Shipping, replacing her father Simeon Palios who will remain as chairman.Paliou has served as a director of the company since March 2015, deputy CEO since October 2019 and chief operating officer since August 2018. Golden Ocean Adds Golden Keen

Golden Ocean Group (GOGL) has announce that it has taken delivery of the last vessel, Q Keen (to be renamed Golden Keen), hence all 16 vessels are now delivered. Golden Ocean has issued 1,050,000 consideration shares to Quintana Shipping Ltd. and associated companies in exchange for the vessel. In a stock exchange filing the reference is made to the stock exchange notice dated March 14, 2017 where  GOGL announced that it has entered into agreements to acquire 16 modern dry bulk vessels in an all-share transaction where the Company will issue in aggregate 17.8 million consideration shares. Following this transaction, the Company's issued share capital is USD 6,618,649.60 divided into 132,372,992 issued shares, each with a nominal value of USD 0.05.

GOGL Adds Dry Bulk Vessel

Golden Ocean Group (GOGL) says that it has taken delivery of one dry bulk vessel, Q Deb. "GOGL announced that it has entered into agreements to acquire 16 modern dry bulk vessels in an all-share transaction where the Company will issue in aggregate 17.8 million consideration shares," said a stock exchange filing of the company. The Company is pleased to announce that it has taken delivery of one vessel, Q Deb (to be renamed Golden Deb), it added. Golden Ocean has issued 1,300,000 consideration shares to Quintana Shipping Ltd. and associated companies in exchange for the vessel. Following this transaction, the Company's issued share capital is USD 6,566,149.60 divided into 131,322,992 issued shares, each with a nominal value of USD 0.05.

GOGL Adds Dry Bulk Vessel

Norway-based dry bulk shipping company Golden Ocean Group Limited (GOGL) has taken delivery of a dry bulk which it bought in March 2017. On 14 March 2017, GOGL announced that it has entered into agreements to acquire 16 modern dry bulk vessels in an all-share transaction where the Company will issue in aggregate 17.8 million consideration shares. "The Company is pleased to announce that it has taken delivery of additional one vessel, Q Gayle (to be renamed Golden Gayle)," said a statement from the company. Golden Ocean has issued 1.8 million consideration shares to Quintana Shipping Ltd. and associated companies in exchange for the vessel.

GOGL Takes Two More Vessels from Quintana

Golden Ocean Group (GOGL)  said it has taken delivery of additional two vessels, Q Myrtalia and Q Shea, from Quintana Shipping  in exchange for 1.95 million consideration shares. The Company is pleased to announce that it has taken delivery of the first two vessels, Q Sue and Q Kaki (to be renamed Golden Sue and Golden Kaki). Golden Ocean has issued 1.6 million consideration shares to Quintana Shipping Ltd. and associated companies in exchange for the two vessels. Following this transaction, the Company’s issued share capital is USD 5,843,649.6 divided into 116,872,992 issued shares, each with a nominal value of USD 0.05.

Another Dry Bulk Ship Delivered to Golden Ocean

Golden Ocean Group Limited has taken delivery of dry bulk vessel Q Kennedy, to be renamed Golden Kennedy.    The vessel is the third of 16 dry bulk vessels recently acquired by Golden Ocean in an all-share transaction where the company will issue in aggregate 17.8 million consideration shares.   Golden Ocean has issued 1.7 million consideration shares to Quintana Shipping Ltd. and associated companies in exchange for Q Kennedy.   Following this transaction, Golden Ocean’s issued share capital is $5,893,649.60 divided into 117,872,992 issued shares, each with a nominal value of $0.05.

Golden Ocean Acquires 16 Dry Bulk Ships

Golden Ocean Group Limited said it has entered into agreements to acquire 16 dry bulk vessels,14 of which will be acquired from subsidiaries of Quintana Shipping Ltd., and two ice class Panamax vessels will be acquired from subsidiaries of Seatankers, an affiliate of Hemen Holding Ltd., the company's largest shareholder.   The 16 vessels will be acquired in an all-share transaction where Golden Ocean will issue in aggregate 17.8 million consideration shares and assume debt of $285.2 million.

Shipping Turns From Banks to Equity Markets for Cash

Shipping companies are turning to equity markets to fill a growing funding gap, betting that investors hungry for decent returns will provide capital to a sector recovering from its worst downturn since the 1980s. Ship owners ordered large numbers of vessels between 2007 and 2009, just as the global economy sank into crisis. Prospects have brightened in recent months as world trade picks up and the ship glut is absorbed. The industry still faces a multi-billion dollar financing hole after banks, its traditional source of funding, cut back lending to boost capital in the wake of the financial crisis. Alternative investors such as private equity firms have been snapping up shipping assets including loan portfolios from the banks.

MacGregor's MacRack Specified for Five Greek Bulkers

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, confirmed that five 180,000 dwt bulk carriers under construction in South Korea at Sungdong Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, will feature MacGregor side-rolling hatch covers operated by MacGregor's innovative MacRack technology. The order includes the design and supply of key components and the fabrication of the hatch covers. The bulkers are destined for two Greek owners, the first two for Quintana Shipping and the remaining three for Alcyon Shipping. The first vessel is scheduled for delivery at the end of 2014.

ABS Nautical Systems Gains Three Greek Customers

ABS Nautical Systems expands in Greece with contracts signed by Sun Enterprises Ltd., Quintana Shipping Ltd. and Nautilus Marine Acquisition Corp. All three companies will utilize ABS Nautical Systems’ Energy & Environmental Manager module through the ABS Newbuild Program, which offers complimentary software to ABS-classed vessels built after January 1, 2009. Sun Enterprises Ltd., located in Piraeus, serves as the consolidated operating company for a modern fleet of tankers and dry bulk carriers. The company will implement the software solution on three of its newly-built vessels. Quintana Shipping Ltd. located in Kifisia is an international provider of shipping transportation services through the ownership and operation of dry bulk vessels.
