Petronas, MISC, MOL Looking to Create LCO2 Carrier Joint Venture

Petronas CCS Ventures, a subsidiary of the Malaysian oil and gas giant Petronas has signed a term sheet with Mitsui O.S.K Lines, Ltd. MISC Berhad announced the change of President & CEO and Chairman of AET effective June 1, 2023. Zahid Osman has been appointed as the President & CEO, succeeding Capt. Rajalingam Subramaniam. The current Chairman, Datuk Yee Yang Chien will step down as of 31st May 2023, and Capt. Rajalingam will take over as the Chairman of AET on June 1, 2023.Currently, Osman is the Vice President of Corporate Planning at MISC. Osman joined the organization in 2017 as Vice President of Gas Assets and Solutions prior to his current role. He possesses more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry.

PTT, AET Pen MoU to Build Zero-emission Aframaxes

Tanker operator AET announced it has named its new dual-fuel very large crude carrier (VLCC) Eagle Valence.Named during a virtual ceremony at Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) in Geoje, South Korea, the 300,000 dwt newbuild is the first of two liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel VLCCs being built for long-term charter to Chartering and Shipping Services SA, a wholly owned subsidiary of TotalEnergies SA, based on an agreement signed in April 2020.Eagle Valence’s sister vessel is currently under construction at SHI and is due to be delivered in the second quarter of this year.Capt.

Total Charters LNG Dual-fuel VLCCs

Malaysian shipowner AET said it signed a deal with Total's Chartering and Shipping Services SA for the time charter of two liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuel very large crude carriers (VLCC). The two newbuilds, which are able to carry about 300,000 tons of crude oil each, are scheduled to be delivered to AET from the first quarter of 2022.The two newbuilds will be powered by LNG and will be among the most environmentally friendly VLCCs in the market. When in service, they will emit around 20% less CO2 greenhouse gases than conventional vessels; 85% less NOx and 99% less SOx.

AET, a petroleum tanker owner and operator, has named its newest vessels, two of the world's first LNG Dual-Fuel Dynamic Positioning Shuttle Tankers (DPSTs). AET Grows in Brazil

With the ongoing development of deepwater pre-salt plays and a decreased demand on local content in tankers and other vessels, Brazilian national operator Petrobras and other super-majors have been looking abroad for better rates and reliable operators of shuttle tankers. Claudio Paschoa, Maritime Reporter’s correspondent in Brazil spoke to Peter Liew, Global Director – Mid Size Tankers, Crude Shipping, about AET Tankers’ history and its operations in Brazil.AET (formerly American Eagle Tankers) was founded in Houston in 1994 primarily to conduct lightering operations in the Gulf of Mexico. AET Names its First LNG-Fueled Aframax Pair

AET and Shell Sign DPST Contract

Shuttle tanker owner AET, a wholly-owned subsidiary of  Malaysia's MISC Group, has won its first contract with Shell in Brazil to time charter one new-build dynamic positioning shuttle tanker (DPST).AET earlier this year sealed a long-term charter for two newbuild LNG-fuelled Aframax tankers with Shell that is set to begin in the fourth quarter of this year.AET President & CEO Capt. AET Secures DP2 Shuttle Tankers with Petrobras

Petroleum tanker owner and operator AET announced the extension of partnership in the DP2 shuttle tanker sector with Petróleo Brasileiro S.A.(Petrobras), the Brazilian multinational petroleum corporation. "Recently we were awarded a contract to own and operate four specialist DP2 Suezmax Shuttle Tankers on long-term charter by Petrobras. These new vessels will be in addition to the two AET DP2 ships currently on charter in the Brazilian Basin for Petrobras," said a press release from the company. The four 152,000 DWT DP2 shuttle tankers will be built by a Korean shipyard for delivery in 2020 and will be contracted to Petrobras for operations in international and Brazilian waters.

Shell, AET Deal for LNG Aframaxes

Malaysian-owned global shipping company specialising in the ocean transport of crude oil and refined products  AET Tankers and Shell International Trading and Shipping Company  formalised arrangements for the long-term charter of AET’s two newbuild liquefied natural gas (LNG) dual-fuelled Aframax tankers. AET’s two 113,000 dwt vessels are currently being built by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea and are due for delivery from Q3 of 2018. The arrangements will see Shell take both vessels on a long-term charter commencing in Q4 of this year. When operating in gas mode, the two AET tankers will emit up to 30% less CO2, 85% less NOx, 99% less SOx and 95% less particular matters, making them among the cleanest Aframax tankers in the market.

AET Adds Four Newly Built Tankers

Singapore-headquartered vessel owner AET Tankers - a subsidiary of Malaysia's MISC Berhad - has named and welcomed four newbuild tankers into its fleet in two separate ceremonies at South Korean shipyards. At Samsung Heavy Industries, Geoje, South Korea on Wednesday, 24 January, AET named two 113,400 dwt Aframax tankers “Eagle Barcelona” and “Eagle Brisbane”. Two 157,512 dwt Suezmax twins, “Eagle San Francisco” and “Eagle San Jose”, were named two days later on Friday, 26 January, at the Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea. All four vessels will join the AET fleet as part of an ongoing fleet rejuvenation programme and take up charter agreements with leading oil companies.

AET Tankers Unveils Names of LR2 Duo

AET has unveiled its two new long-range (LR2) petroleum tankers from Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) at HHI’s Gunsan Shipyard, Korea, on Thursday, 8 June 2017. The Singapore flagged 114,000dwt Eagle Lyon and French-flagged Eagle Le Havre, are owned by AET, and have been taken on long-term charter by French oil major TOTAL. The sister vessels were ceremonialised at a naming ceremony in Gunsan, which was graced by Yee Yang Chien, AET Chairman and President/Group CEO of MISC Berhad, and Capt. Rajalingam Subramanian, President & CEO of AET, along with senior representatives from TOTAL’s Trading and Shipping Division. The vessel was blessed by Godmother to the vessel, Mrs Helle Kristoffersen, Senior Vice-President, Strategy and Corporate Affairs Gas Renewables and Power Division, TOTAL.

AET Buys All of Paramount Tankers

AET will purchase the remaining 50% of Paramount Tankers that it currently jointly own (under a 50/50 joint venture agreement) with Golden Energy Tanker Holdings. Paramount Tankers is a JV which owns and operates six Aframax vessels. Commercial management is delivered by AET and technical management is provided by Enterprises Shipping and Trading SA. AET Buys Paramount Tankers

American Eagle Tankers (AET), a subsidiary of Malaysian shipping line MISC Bhd, said that it will acquire all the remaining shares of Paramount Tankers, making the latter its wholly owned subsidiary. AET will acquire Golden Energy Tanker Holdings’ 50% stake in Paramount Tankers, a joint venture between the two companies that owns and operates six aframax vessels. AET did not disclose the value of the deal, which is expected to be completed by September this year. MISC, AET Fleets Merger

International energy logistics group MISC Berhad announced that it is to merge its chemical fleet with the clean petroleum products (CPP) fleet operated by its wholly owned petroleum subsidiary, AET. Under the new arrangement, AET will take over the 13 chemical vessels and one LPG tanker currently owned/operated by MISC and combine them with its own fleet of eight CPPs to create a new, single entity. Announcing the move, MISC President/Group CEO, Yee Yang Chien, said, “There are significant synergies to be gained from merging the two fleets and creating a consolidated products business. “The integration will also allow us to continue to expand our customer base and develop a range of long-term partnerships in the sector,” he added.

AET Orders Eight Tanker Newbuilds

AET, an owner and operator of petroleum tankers, has signed contracts worth approximately $500 million combined for the construction of eight new vessels. AET on Tuesday contracted Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries Co Ltd (SHI) for four 113,000 dwt Aframax vessels to be delivered in 2018. The shipper then signed an additional contract Wednesday with another Korean builder Hyundai Heavy Industries Co Ltd (HHI) for two 114,000 dwt LR2 product vessels and two 158,000 dwt Suezmax vessels for delivery in 2017.
