Hanwha Ocean Receives $250M Order for Two Very Large Ammonia Carriers

NYK Orders Man Energy Engines for Four LNG Carriers

Japanese shipping giant NYK has ordered eight ME-GA engines from Man Energy Solutions for four liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.The order is for eight 5G70ME-GA Mk. 10.5 engines related to the construction of four 174,000 cbm. WinGD Debuts Compact On-engine Emissions Solution for X-DF Portfolio

Swiss marine power company WinGD has introduced an on-engine version of its iCER system, enabling the emissions reduction technology to be installed without impact on engine footprint. iCER is the first X-DF2.0 technology introduced to further boost the emissions performance and efficiency of the dual-fuel X-DF two-stroke engine series. X-DF engines running on LNG already offer a more than 20% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and a reduction in air pollution compared to fuel oil. The addition of iCER delivers a 50% reduction of methane slip in gas mode.

Nippon Foundation, DeepStar Launch Joint Decarbonization R&D Program

The Nippon Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the offshore technology development consortium DeepStar to establish a joint research and development program focused on decarbonization in offshore oil and gas, with a focus on renewable energy and the environment.The initial program budget is up to $10 million through 2026, and the overall plan is to develop technologies for commercialization.“I am very pleased that we have been able to conclude this new memorandum of understanding,” said Mr. Sasakawa.

ExxonMobil Floats $100 Billion Carbon Storage Project

OCEAN Industries Inc. has ordered 8 × MAN 12V175D-MM, IMO Tier III-compliant engines in connection with the construction of 4 × 24-meter ASD tugs for the Royal Canadian Navy. The vessels are set respectively for delivery to Canada’s major naval bases at Esquimalt, British Columbia and Halifax, Nova Scotia, with each location set to receive two tugs. Under the contract, MAN Energy Solutions will also provide SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology for the engines, facilitating Tier III compliance, as well as ship service diesel-generator sets.
