HII, Petters Recognized by the Reserve Officers Association

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) and its president and CEO, Mike Petters, received the Reserve Officers Association's 2015 Nathan Hale Corporate Patriot Award presented at the ROA STARS Foundation Gala on Tuesday in Washington, D.C. The Nathan Hale Corporate Patriot Award is presented to a corporation and its senior leadership committed to serving the nation, military veterans and military reservists. This year's award was presented to both HII and Johnson & Johnson. "I am honored to accept the Nathan Hale Corporate Patriot Award on behalf of all the veterans at HII," Petters said.

Crowley Recognizes USMMA Midshipman Berto

Crowley Maritime Corporation recently presented U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) Midshipman Kevin Berto with the Maritime Security Enhancement Award during the Academy’s award convocation. Berto received the award, which was established by Crowley in 2003, in recognition of his strong interest in a port, maritime or transportation security career and high grade point average both in class and at sea as a cadet. Berto is a logistics and intermodal transportation major from Lake Forrest, Ill.

Admiral Kramek Named President-Elect of SNAME

The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) named Robert E. Kramek president elect of the organization at its recent Annual Maritime Technology Conference & Expo in Houston, Texas. Kramek, President and Chief Operating Officer of ABS will commence his term January 1, 2007, succeeding current SNAME President Dr. Roger H. Compton. Admiral Kramek is a former Commandant of the United States Coast Guard (USCG) from which he retired as a Four Star Admiral. Admiral Robert E. Kramek graduated with honors from the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Academy with a B.S. in engineering in 1961 and attended postgraduate schools at the University of Michigan, Johns Hopkins University and the University of Alaska.

Coast Guard Units Honored with Awards

The Eighth Coast Guard District and Coast Guard Integrated Support Commands New Orleans and St. Louis were awarded the 2002 Admiral Russell R. Waesche Award at the Coast Guard Congressional Reception in Washington, D.C., Monday. members to augment and assist active-duty forces. The Eighth District and ISCs New Orleans and St. Louis provided leadership and partnership to support 1,433 reservists and 2,854 active-duty personnel in fiscal year 2002. miles of inland waterways in all or parts of 26 states. marshal boardings in fiscal year 2002.
