Kirk Petrophysics Cuts to the Core

Global leaders in the oil and gas industry will descend on the U.K. for an annual technical day organized by Reservoir Group member company Kirk Petrophysics. Experts from across the field will lead the discussions at the event, which is being held at the firm’s newly expanded Core Center in Guildford next month. Specialists from leading international firms including Schlumberger, Dhahran Carbonate Research Center, SGS and Empirica will be among those attending the event. The technical day on May 30 will provide insight into the latest techniques being used in the coring industry.

Reservoir Names MD for Well Intervention

Reservoir Group announced the appointment of Fraser Louden as managing director of its well intervention and measurements business. Acting as the Group management team’s interface with its growing portfolio of companies, Louden joins from an executive advisor role at FMC Technologies and previous expertise at READ Well Services Ltd., where he held key roles, including chief executive officer, vice president, business development manager and R&D manager. Reservoir Group Adds Companies and Services

Reservoir Group has strengthened its portfolio of completion and production services with the announcement that two well intervention specialists have joined the ‘club’. The Tool Company, located in Assen, The Netherlands and the Aberdeen-based firm, Wellbore Intervention bring their expertise in coiled tubing well intervention to the portfolio of activities currently on offer from Reservoir Group. Both companies provide a variety of well intervention services to the oil and gas industry across the UK and continental Europe.

Reservoir Group Announces Acquisition of MSI

International oilfield services company, Reservoir Group, has announced the acquisition of Mudlogging Services Inc (MSI), the US-based developer and supplier of the MLogger series of gas detection systems. Founded in 2001, MSI is headquartered in Grand Junction, Colorado. From this base, the company leases its specialised systems and software to a number of major operators and independent oil and gas companies across the US and worldwide, including Mexico, Africa and Eastern Europe.

Omega Launches Monitoring Tech Device

- ENSURING WELL INTEGRITY: The Leakator is a modular memory instrument, that uses multiple sensor arrays that are merged and plotted against depth to highlight local variations in the well, thereby providing an indication of leaks.

Omega Well Monitoring, a member of international oilfield services company, Reservoir Group, and specialist in the manufacture and supply of downhole memory tools, has announced the launch of its latest product, the Leakator. The tool, for which patents are pending, is optimised to locate leaks and monitor downhole flow. It has been developed in response to the increasing requirements of the industry to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs, by monitoring well integrity.

Corpro Secures ENI Contract in Norway

Corpro Systems Ltd., a member of international oilfield services organisation Reservoir Group, has been awarded a significant coring contract in Eni, the largest Italian energy company. The contract is the third commercial project to be carried out by Corpro since it opened its Scandinavian facility in late 2010 and will include coring and various on-site services related to coring, for exploration wells offshore Norway and activity in upcoming production wells in the Barents Sea. Work will also commence on the already spudded Marulk exploration well. The value of the contract will depend upon the volume of core extracted during the forthcoming jobs.
