Resolve Maritime Academy's New Wet Trainer Facility
Resolve Maritime Academy informed it has started building a new, two-story wet trainer, larger and more expansive than its original, the L/V Gray Manatee. “We are incredibly proud to offer a course that combines stability and damage control using our new two-story wet trainer,” said Denise Johnston, Resolve Maritime Academy Director. Utilizing props meant to simulate flooding from breaches, broken pipes, and hatches, the new wet trainer is designed to give the first responders of a vessel the knowledge and understanding necessary to deal with survivable hull breaches. Located next to the L/V Gray Manatee in Port Everglades, the academy’s new wet trainer is one of the largest in the industry.

Originally from the Boston, Mass., area, he began by enlisting in the United States Coast Guard, eventually attending the U.S. Navy diver school, becoming a ship’s diver. After two years at sea and diving in Arctic waters, he volunteered for service and became an explosives advisor, offloading ammunition ships in Vietnam. Eventually, Farrell became a civilian diver at the U.S.

RMA selects Transas Engine Room Simulator
Resolve Maritime Academy (RMA) has ordered the Transas Techsim 5000, DNV approved, Class A, Full Mission Engine Room Simulator for their new simulation facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The new engine simulation systems currently being deployed will facilitate the conduct of a wide range of courses for the training of marine engineers, including operational and emergency procedures and crew resource management training with Resolve’s existing Transas Full Mission Bridge Simulators.

Resolve Maritime Academy Joins ECDIS Training Network
Resolve Maritime Academy has joined the Transas Global ECDIS Training Network, known as Get-Net. The Academy recently expanded its Fort Lauderdale, Florida training facilities, adding a second ECDIS classroom with Transas simulation software and Transas ECDIS to meet the high demand for Generic and Type-Specific ECDIS training. The training partnership with Transas allows Resolve Maritime Academy to comply with all Flag State, Port State Control and Classification Society requirements and to better serve its global client base, in time for the new ECDIS training requirement deadlines.

RESOLVE Marine Group, Inc. (RESOLVE) has acquired the staff and assets of the Elliott Bay Design Group’s (EBDG) New Orleans, Louisiana office. Resolve Maritime Trains Qatar Firefighters
Resolve Maritime Academy, U.S. - based maritime emergency response training center, graduated seven students from Qatar on November 23. The graduates, who are land-based firefighters, came to Resolve’s South Florida facility for a customized program of marine- oriented fire, hazardous materials and safety courses. The program was organized in cooperation with the National Academy for Professional Training (NAPT) in Qatar. The students attended classes at Resolve Maritime Academy’s Port Everglades, Fla. facilities from October 4 through November 25.

Martha Lord has joined Resolve Marine Group as Manager of Marketing and Communications in the company’s Fort Lauderdale, Fla. headquarters at 1850 S.E. 17th Street, Suite 204. Lord manages marketing, public relations and advertising for all divisions of the company, including Resolve Salvage and Fire, and Resolve Maritime Academy. Lord was formerly with the Ruden McClosky law firm in Fort Lauderdale, where she was Communications Manager for their statewide practice. Previously, she was Director of Association Services for the Marine Industries Association of South Florida.
