Saudi Aramco, Total in USD1bln Pact

Saudi Aramco and Total hasve signed a joint venture agreement to develop a network of fuel and retail services in Saudi Arabia.The 50:50 JV plans to invest around $1 billion over the next six years in the Saudi fuel retail market and start providing motorists with premium fuels and retail services in the Guf kingdom.“This is a major milestone which will help establish a quality retail fuel network in the Kingdom. Glencore Sees Record Oil Trading Volumes as Margins Shrink

Glencore looks set to cement its position as the world's second-largest oil trader as it tries to offset low volatility and tight margins with record volumes this year, its global head of oil, Alex Beard, told Reuters. The London-listed commodities trader and miner will shift around 6 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude and refined product this year, up 25 percent from last year. The figure represents around 6 percent of global supply and only rival Vitol trades more oil, at some 7 million bpd. Most merchants are being forced to ramp up volumes to protect profits in an environment of low volatility. "We don’t set targets in terms of volumes," Beard told the annual Reuters Global Commodities Summit.

Crowley Maritime Corporation’s petroleum distribution group in Alaska says it has been recognized by Shell Oil Products US as the 2013 Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) wholesaler of the year. As Shell’s sole wholesale distributor in Alaska, Crowley faces unique challenges including remote locations, harsh environments, a diverse product and customer base, limited supply options and large fluctuations in seasonal demand. The company currently services 17 Shell-branded retail stations, three of which are owned and operated by Crowley.

Shell Donates Toward Philippine Typhoon Re-building Program

Royal Dutch Shell plc is donating US$2.5 million, in response to the catastrophic typhoon Haiyan that struck the Philippines. The donation from the Shell Group will be used for rebuilding and rehabilitation efforts in the areas badly hit by typhoon Haiyan, as a way of providing long-term assistance for the affected communities. Shell companies in the Philippines (SciP) Country Chairman Edgar Chua said, “The extensive loss of lives and damage to property brought about by Haiyan has again mobilised the local and international community to assist in relief and rehabilitation efforts providing hope for survivors to rebuild their lives.
