Incat Using SSI Software for Buquebus Ferry Build

Incat and ABB to Develop Lightweight Hybrid-electric Ferry

Shipbuilding Contract: Incat Tasmania Scores Seaworld Express Ferry Deal

Incat Tasmania Exports 111m Ferry to Spain

Incat Tasmania’s newest 111-meter ferry has been handed over to her new Spanish operator  Naviera Armas and departed Hobart late last night (16 July) for Spain.The ship, named Volcan de Tagoro (Incat Hull 091) is impressive in her distinctive red Naviera Armas livery. 091 completed sea trials over the past few days, loaded fuel and supplies yesterday for the delivery voyage to Spain, and has now left Australia.The delivery will be via Auckland, across the Pacific Ocean to Tahiti and the Panama Canal before crossing the Atlantic on her way to Spain.

Shipbuilding: New 110m Catamaran Named Saint John Paul II

Shipbuilder Incat has launched the 110m vehicle / passenger ferry from the shipyard at Derwent Park in Hobart Tasmania. The ship will commence sea trials in mid January prior to delivery to her new owner Virtu Ferries for service between Malta and Sicily.Bearing the livery Saint John Paul II the vessel has been named in honor of the Pope who served from 1978 to 2005, so revered the Pope has often posthumously, but unofficially, been referred to by Catholics as "St. John Paul the Great".

Fast Ferry Contract for Incat

Australian shipbuilder Incat has been awarded a contract for the design and construction of a large new vehicle-passenger ferry for a major European operator. The new vessel for Naviera Armas is the second vessel in Incat’s new generation 109 meter high speed wave piercing catamaran range and will operate in Spanish waters when delivered in early 2019. Born out of theIncat 112 meter, the concept was redesigned from the keel up by Incat’s in-house naval architects and engineers at Revolution Design Pty Ltd.

Australian Built Ferry Heads for Denmark

A new generation fast ferry has left Tasmania on her delivery voyage to Denmark via the Panama Canal. The Express 3 is a 109 meter long high speed vehicle/passenger ferry from Australian shipbuilder Incat Tasmania for Danish operator Molslinjen, becoming the fourth Hobart-built catamaran in the company’s current fleet. Incat to Build RoPax Vessel for Virtu Ferries

Incat has been selected by Virtu Ferries of Malta to design and build a 110 meter vehicle passenger RoPax ferry. World’s Largest Fast Crew Boat Christened at Incat

The 70-meter Fast Crew Boat (FCB) was christened Muslim Magomayev at a ceremony at the Incat shipyard on Monday, September 15. This is the first vessel that Australian Shipbuilder Incat Tasmania has purpose built for the oil and gas industry. When sea trials are completed the boat will depart later this month to Baku, Azerbaijan. Caspian Marine Services executives and 12 Azerbaijan crew witnessed 10 year old Hilary Clifford, granddaughter of Incat Chairman, Robert Clifford, cut the ribbon releasing the champagne.

First-of-type Walk-to-Work Crewboat Launched

Incat Crowther announced the launch and sea trials of Muslim Magomayev, a first-of-type 70m Catamaran Fast Crew Boat (FCB). Constructed by Incat Tasmania, Muslim Magomayev is compliant with IMO HSC code and complete with a crew transfer system consisting of dynamic positioning equipment class (DP2) coupled with a walk-to-work stabilized access platform. The vessel’s operation includes fast crew transfer for 150 offshore workers to multiple offshore installations. The hull design is optimized for high speed transits with a maximized operability envelope and low incidences of sea sickness.

HamiltonJet HT900s for New High Speed Crewboat

Incat Crowther announced a first of type 70m Catamaran Fast Crew Boat (FCB), compliant with IMO HSC code and complete with a crew transfer system consisting of dynamic positioning equipment class (DP2) coupled with a stabilized access platform. Construction of the vessel has commenced at the shipbuilder Incat Tasmania, with delivery scheduled for September 2014. Incat to Build LNG-Powered Fast RoRo

Incat won a contract to build the world’s first high speed passenger RoRo ship powered by Liquified Natural Gas (LNG). The 99m high speed ferry, with capacity for over 1000 passengers and 153 cars, is being built at the Incat Tasmania shipyard at Prince of Wales Bay in Hobart for delivery in 2012 to a customer who has requested anonymity, for both itself and the proposed route. Incat and Revolution Design engineers are working with technical personnel from GE in Europe and the U.S.

Bollinger Team Awarded Design Contract for JHSV

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. has won a multi-million dollar Phase I design contract for the Joint High Speed Vessel (JHSV) program. The JHSV program is a cooperative effort of Navy, Army, Marines and Special Operations Command forces. The vessel will be a high-speed, shallow draft platform intended for rapid intra-theater transport of medium sized cargo payloads. The Bollinger contract is one of three awarded by the Navy for a six month design effort in support of a potential Phase II Detail Design and Construction contract.

Derecktor Eyes Military Deal

Derecktor Shipyards could be building high-speed ferries for the U.S. military in Bridgeport if it and its partners can edge out some tough competition for what could be a $234m defense contract. Exactly how many consortiums have bid on the Joint High Speed Vessel for the Army and Navy is unclear. Only two groups have verified they are going after the contract to develop a completely new vessel for the Navy. Derecktor and its partners, Maersk Line Ltd., which is the U.S. subsidiary of Dutch A.P. Moller Maersk Group, and naval architects Gibbs & Cox confirmed they're in the contest this month. HSV 2 Swift Completes Sea Trials

In a world first for a commercial based High Speed Craft (HSC), certified and operated in accordance with the HSC Code by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), USN HSV 2 Swift has completed very comprehensive heavy weather sea trials in the North Atlantic Ocean. HSV 2 Swift is a 98 metre Incat SeaFrame configured to US Navy specifications and is designed by Revolution Design in Tasmania, Australia, and built by Incat Tasmania, also in Tasmania, Australia. HSV 2 Swift is contracted to the US Navy, through Military Sealift Command by Bollinger Incat USA.

Incat Introduces New Catamaran

Incat is proud to introduce the Evolution One12 112 metre Wave Piercing Catamaran, a new craft well suited to the demands of both commercial and military operators. Construction of the first Evolution One12, ordered by Incat USA, will commence shortly in Hobart, with delivery programmed for 2004. The Evolution One12 will be capable of carrying up to 1500 tonnes deadweight and will be the largest diesel powered fast craft in the world. Incat has selected four 20RK280 MAN B&W engines to provide the 36 megawatts required to power the vessel at speeds of up to 50 knots. Each 20-cylinder RK280 engine is rated for continuous operation at 9,000KWb at 1000 rpm for this application.

Bollinger Announces Consortium for Future Building Opportunities

Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. announced at the International Workboat Show in New Orleans that an agreement was reached to form an international consortium to respond to a Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition program for the Joint High Speed Vessel (JHSV). The JHSV program brings together Navy, Army, Marines, and SOCOM to pursue a multi-use platform. The JHSV is a new generation, multi-use platform capable of transporting troops and their equipment, supporting humanitarian relief efforts, the ability to operate in shallow waters and can reach speed in access of 35 knots fully loaded. The consortium is led by Louisiana-based Bollinger Shipyards…
