Beam Launches RapidSat 700 a Portable Satellite

RapidSat 700

Beam Communications Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of World Reach Limited (ASX: WRR), has announced the launch of RapidSat700, a portable satellite communications system that operates with the Inmarsat BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) network. RapidSat700 is a portable “all in one case” for satellite communication deployment in emergency situations, first responder and disaster recovery work. The RapidSat700 solution is also ideal for a rapid setup providing easy access to voice and higher speed satellite data / internet access in remote areas.

ISATPHONE PRO iFLYtm Turnkey Package

The iFly Industrial Package from Delta Wave was designed for quick and easy deployment. It is a turnkey package which incorporates Beam’s IsatPhone Pro Dock, and external antenna which also incorporates GPS. All is contained in a watertight NEMA enclosure with handle for ease of transport and quick installation in indoor or outdoor environments. The unit also works with Inmarsat’s 505 emergency alert service, providing location data. A 30-ft coax cable set is Included, which should satisfy most installation requirements.

Sea Tel Offers High Speed Data

With WaveCall MCM3, Sea Tel offers simultaneous bi-directional high-speed data and voice in one small antenna dome. SeaTel’s coverage includes North America, the North Atlantic, the Caribbean and Europe. The three modems respond to demand by activating one, two or three circuits as required by the data and voice load. The modems have the capacity to offer speeds up the 28.8K with hardware alone and with the SatSpeed compression software embedded, the system can achieve landline modem equivalents up to 144K. Installation requires the mounting of 20in. x 7 in height dome above decks. Below decks there is an RJ45 local area network connection, an RJ11 phone connection and a custom control panel which identifies which modems are operating, signal strength, gateway I.D.

Advances in communication services for ships and boats is expanding rapidly, keeping pace with development cycles of landside installations. EMS SATCOM Fleet 55 Satellite Terminal Gains Type Approval

Following a rigorous program of beta testing and evaluation on a number of vessels from various market segments, EMS SATCOM, a division of EMS Technologies, Inc., has received full Inmarsat type approval for its new Fleet 55 Maritime satellite terminal. The Fleet 55 terminal provides global voice services, as well as 64kbits/s Mobile ISDN (including G-3 fax at 14.4kbps, or full-blown G-4 fax) and Mobile Packet Data. It supports a comprehensive selection of interfaces, including ISDN, X.21, RS449, RS232, and two RJ11 ports, as well as optional STUIIB/III service for reliable secure communications.
