Eagle Bulk CEO Gary Vogel Named CMA Commodore

Gary Vogel, chief executive officer of Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc., has been named as the Connecticut Maritime Association (CMA) Commodore for the year 2022.The 2022 Commodore Award, given each year to a person in the international maritime industry who has contributed to the growth and development of the industry, will be presented on March 31, at the Gala Dinner marking the conclusion of the annual Connecticut Maritime Association conference and expo, in Stamford, Conn..Vogel has served as CEO and director of Eagle Bulk Shipping Inc. (NASDAQ: EGLE) since September, 2015.

NAO Logs a Big Loss

Nordic American Offshore Ltd (NYSE: NAO) reported for the three months ended December 31, 2018, the company's net loss was $169.3 million, or $26.23 per basic and diluted loss per share, which included a non-cash impairment charge of $160.1 million, or $24.80 per basic and diluted. Excluding the impairment charge, the net loss for the fourth quarter of 2018 was $9.2 million, or $1.43 per basic and diluted loss per share. Bugbee Buys More Scorpio Bulkers Shares

Dry bulk vessel owner and operator Scorpio Bulkers Inc. said its president Robert Bugbee has purchased 15,000 common shares of the company at an average price of $6.29 per share in the open market.    A director of the company also purchased 10,000 common shares at an average price of $6.50 per share in the open market.

New York Shipping Conference: The New Normal

Examining key industry drivers is the focus of the 17th annual Hellenic-American and Norwegian-American Chambers of Commerce annual conference, often called the New York Shipping Conference.
