Industry veteran Manish Singh has joined maritime knowledge services group Seagull and Videotel as CEO. Oakley Buys Two Maritime e-Learning Biz

Seagull Training App v2.0 Enriched for Ease of Use

Seagull Maritime said it has upgraded its Seagull Training App, the mobile software solution that has changed the way seafarers track their training records and receive critical safety alerts. Seagull's Software Tool for Benchmarking Seafarers Knowledge

Seagull Maritime has launched an advanced software tool able to benchmark seafarer knowledge levels, allowing shipowners and operators to compare their crew and potential recruits with industry peers. The new tool will provide shipping companies with online access to data that can help them take objective decisions on recruitment sources and identify areas where further training is required. Honing Skill Of Seafarers Using SATCOM

Maritime operational effectiveness is to be enhanced globally through the provision of training and certification for seafarers assigned to use advanced satellite communication systems on-board commercial vessels. Seagull Debuts Bulker Competence Evaluator

Seagull has released the Bulker Industry Training Standard (BITS), a predefined competence management system for the dry bulk industry. Consilium ECDIS Product-Specific on Board Training Module

Consilium, one of the worlds’s leading suppliers of fire and gas detection and navigation systems, has reached an agreement with well known training specialist Seagull to develop an ECDIS product-specific computer-based training package. Seagull Signs Landmark Licensing Agreement

Norwegian training specialist Seagull AS has signed a licensing agreement with the International Shipping Federation (ISF), the global employers’ association for shipowners, which will allow Seagull to utilize electronic versions of the widely-used ISF Onboard Training Record Books in conjunction with the Seagull Competence Manager software. The agreement grants Seagull the right to develop an electronic version of all four ISF Record Books and sub-licence these to ship operators who chose to use the Seagull Training Administrator program.

Seagull Offers High Voltage Maritime Equipment Training

Maritime training specialist Seagull plugs the gap in training for shipboard expertise in operation of high voltage electrical systems. The wider adoption of electrical propulsion, variable speed drives and cold ironing have combined to make shipboard higher voltage systems (above 1,000V) increasingly commonplace in the maritime industry. Two new Seagull courses, CBT#0232 and CBT#0233, address revisions to the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW 2010) on electrical system management which are now force. They cover theoretical knowledge of HV systems, practical skills and safety awareness. The revised STCW requires seafarers working with, or around, HV systems to be trained.
