Syncrolift Deal Strengthens TTS Market Position

Through its subsidiary TTS Handling Systems AS, TTS Group ASA has signed an agreement with Rolls-Royce Marine North America Inc. for purchase of Syncrolift assets. The asset deal gives TTS Handling Systems AS an exclusive and unlimited right to conduct future business based on Syncrolift products and relevant intellectual properties and includes takeover of drawings of 250 shiplifts, patents and brand (Syncrolift). TTS successfully launched a strategic market initiative towards the shiplift market a few years ago, and has won the last seven contracts for shiplift newbuilds in the international market. Rolls Royce Marine Awarded LCS Engine Repair Contract

U.S. Department of Defense informs that Rolls Royce Marine North America, Walpole, Massachusetts, is being awarded a US$9,000,000 firm-fixed-price repair order (N00104-09-G-A755) for the repair of one Marine Trent 30 marine gas turbine engine for the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Freedom variant. DoD explains that this contract provides for the repair and overhaul of the Marine Trent 30 marine gas turbine engine, replacement of non-repairable re-assembly to the LCS configuration, and pass-off testing to validate performance. Work will be performed in Bristol, United Kingdom, and is expected to be completed by February 2016. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, District of Columbia, is the contracting activity.

Rolls-Royce congratulates US Navy on christening of USS Zumwalt

Rolls-Royce congratulated the US Navy on the christening of the USS Zumwalt, the first of its new and highly sophisticated DDG 1000 multi-mission destroyer class of ship. The 600 foot long all-electric ship was christened by sponsors Ann Zumwalt and Mouzetta Zumwalt-Weathers at Bath Iron Works in Maine during a ceremony attended by thousands of people, including The Honorable Ray Mabus, the Secretary of the Navy, and other dignitaries. During the ceremony Don Roussinos, Rolls-Royce, President – Naval said: "Rolls-Royce congratulates the US Navy on the christening of its most technologically advanced – and first all-electric – multi mission destroyer class of ship.
