SRM Produces Innovative Three Function Tank Gauging System

Saab Rosemount Marine recently released a new innovative 3-in-1 tank gauging solution–groundbreaking technique for improved performance. The new 3-in-1 solution for level gauging, high level and overfill alarm in one single tank gauge unit has been presented for improved gauging performance and more efficient handling during loading and discharge as well as easier installation. All three functions are for the first time handled by the radar technique, sharing the same deck penetration. Its level gauging, high level and overfill alarm means that all three functions are integrated in one single unit. The functions are designed as independent measuring channels, galvanically separated and intrinsically safe. Saab TankRadar STaR takes advantage of a new sensor technology.

LNG Market Poised for Massive Growth

According to the broker’s statistics, some 60 new LNG carriers will have been ordered during this year and, by the end of November, the orderbook consisted of 104 vessels equivalent to about 80% of the existing fleet.
