Lehman Acquires IMECO

J.F. Lehman & Company investment affiliates acquire AMECO, provider of electro-mechanical solutions to the defense, aerospace and maritime sectors. IMECO, based in Iron Mountain, MI, is a leading independent domestic provider of turnkey marine electro-mechanical solutions for U.S Government and commercial customers. The Company's integrated maritime solutions include the design, engineering, planning, procurement and installation of HVAC, cargo handling, electric steering, propulsion and fire suppression systems for government and commercial vessels. Marine Machinery Association to Hold 27th Annual Meeting

The Marine Machinery Association will hold its 27 Annual Meeting at the Sofitel Hotel in Philadelphia on October 4 and 5, 2011. Vice Admiral Kevin McCoy will be the kick-off speaker to be followed by Fred Harris, CEO of NASSCO, and Roy Arnold, CEO of IMECO. Attendees will tour NAVSSES in the afternoon. On the second day there will be a panel of the VPs of Supply Chain Management and Material Acquisition Directors from the major shipyards. Technical presentations fill out the day. Ship System and Component Manufacturers Discuss Past and Future

The Congressional Shipbuilding Caucus (CSC) co-chaired by Representatives Gene Taylor (D-MS) and Jo Ann Davis (R-VA), met with ship component manufacturers on the impact that low rates of naval shipbuilding have had on their companies and the challenges confronting the ship manufacturing industrial base. The ship manufacturers that met with the Caucus included: Mr. Craig Hansen of BWXT/ Babcock and Wilcox in Mount Vernon, IN; Mr. Walter Herr of Fairbanks Morse Engine in Beloit, WI; Mr. Roy Arnold of IMECO, Inc. in Iron Mountain, MI; Mr. Michael Stobbart of Lister Chain and Forge, Inc. in Blaine, WA; and Mr. Terry Sterling of Nelson Stud Welding in Elyria, OH.
