The Ardent Group sold its Australian subsidiary Ardent Oceania Pty Ltd to its managing director Drew Shannon. Boskalis: One Dead, Five Sick on FPSO

Dutch dredging and offshore contractor Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. has confirmed that one contract worker is dead and five were seriously injured after consuming a ‘toxic’ cleaning liquid on board a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel destined for Brazil.The incident occurred earlier this week on board an FPSO which is currently in transit between China and Brazil, towed by the Vanguard semi-submersible heavy lift ship.Six persons employed by the designated contractor, all with the Brazilian nationality, illegally consumed a cleaning liquid found on board of the FPSO, it said."This liquid is a substance customarily used for degreasing purposes, presumably containing a mixture of ethanol and the severely toxic methanol.

Boskalis Bags El Salvador FSRU Gig

Dutch dredging, offshore and heavylift company Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. has been awarded a major contract to connect an offshore Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU)  to an onshore power plant in El Salvador.The contract was awarded by Energia del Pacifico (EDP), a 378-MW liquefied natural gas (LNG)-to-power infrastructure project at the Port of Acajutla, El Salvador. The project will commence early 2020 and is scheduled to be operational by the end of 2021.‎The project entails the construction of a two-kilometer-long gas pipeline connection from the onshore power plant to an offshore FSRU including the mooring and hook-up.

Boskalis Wins Two Offshore Projects

Dutch engineering company Royal Boskalis Westminster  has been awarded two offshore contracts with a combined value of approximately EUR 85 million.For a new offshore windfarm in Taiwan, Boskalis will carry out the scour protection of the turbine foundations and in Denmark a four-kilometer-long gas pipeline will be installed in the seabed. The execution of both projects is scheduled to take place in 2020.In Taiwan, Boskalis was awarded a contract for the scour protection for the Yunlin offshore windfarm. The award was made by Yunneng Wind Power Co. Ltd. Boskalis will install rock on the seabed around the 71 monopile foundations serving as scour protection.In total 325,000 tons of rock sourced from local quarries in Taiwan will be installed using a fall-pipe vessel.

Boskalis Bags Pasay Reclamation Project

Dutch dredging and heavylift company Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has received the Provisional Letter of Acceptance for the Design and Construction contract for the Pasay Reclamation Development Project in Manila Bay, Philippines in cooperation with CHEC from China.The award was made by the publicly listed company SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SMPHI), one of the largest property developers in Southeast Asia. The development will create a new commercial and residential area in a densely populated part of Manila. The project has an estimated value of approximately USD 720 million (EUR 650 million) of which Boskalis’ share amounts to approximately EUR 325 million.Peter Berdowski, Boskalis CEO said: “We are delighted with the award of this substantial contract from SMPHI.

Boskalis Completes Horizon Acquisition

Dutch dredging and heavylift company Royal Boskalis Westminster has acquired the remaining 37.5% in the United Arab Emirates’s Horizon Group, a company specializing in the provision of marine geophysical surveys and geotechnical services.Earlier this year, Boskalis already acquired 62.5% of the shares. Boskalis Wins Contracts for $120Mln

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. has secured multiple heavy marine transport services contracts with a combined value of about $120 million.The execution of the majority of projects is scheduled to take place in 2021 and 2022.Following last year’s transportation of a sizable box-shaped FPSO, Boskalis secured a contract to transport a similar FPSO from China to Brazil.With a weight exceeding 91,000 tons this marks another record-breaking transport for the BOKA Vanguard, which is scheduled to commence at the end of 2019.Boskalis also secured a contract for the transportation of various large LNG modules from a fabrication yard in China to Russia.

Boskalis Bags Dredging Contract in Maldives

Dutch dredging company Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. has won a contract by the Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure, Republic of Maldives, in relation to the development of Gulhifalhu.The value of the contract is estimated at approximately EUR 45 million (US$50 million).The dredging activities are due to commence in the fourth quarter of 2019 and are expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2020.The development of Gulhifalhu, located about four kilometers from the country’s capital Malé, forms part of the Ministry of National Planning and Infrastructure’s strategic plan to improve and develop the port infrastructure and will serve as a climate adaptive solution…

Boskalis Unit Scores Mozambique FLNG Gig

Dutch dredging company Royal Boskalis Westminster announced that its 50%-owned associate company Smit Lamnalco is contracted by Coral FLNG to provide marine services to the first Mozambique floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) terminal.The 10-year contract with additional extension options marks the first terminal services contract award for the Mozambique offshore LNG developments.The contract value for Smit Lamnalco amounts to approximately USD 200 million and services will commence early 2022.For the delivery of its services Smit Lamnalco will deploy three new 95 ton bollard pull tugs to provide escort, berthing and unberthing services to LNG carriers at the FLNG facility.

Boskalis Raises Carnival Vista

The Boskalis semi-submersible heavy lift ship BOKA Vanguard successfully floated the cruise ship Carnival Vista aboard in order to facilitate repairs at a shipyard in the Bahamas.Royal Boskalis Westminster said in a press release that commencing last Saturday 13 July at sunrise the BOKA Vanguard loaded and lifted cruise ship Carnival Vista in a successful operation a few miles off the coast of Freeport, Bahamas.The loading operation including the re-float took twelve hours. Boskalis Floating Dock to Fix Carnival Vista

Florida-headquartered Carnival Cruise Line has contracted the Dutch marine engineering company Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. to lift its cruise ship Carnival Vista out of the water onto the world’s largest heavy lift ship, Boka Vanguard, and transport it to Grand Bahama shipyard for a dry docking operation.The operation, the first of its kind in the world, will take place in the coming weeks in Freeport, Bahamas. Boskalis Wins $45M Channel Widening Deal

Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) won a contract for the widening of the Port Adelaide Outer Harbor shipping channel in Australia. The project was awarded by port owner and operator Flinders Ports, and the contract is worth approximately $45m.Boskalis will widen the shipping channel by 40 meters to 170 meters and extend the turning basin to accommodate the larger and more efficient Post Panamax container ships which are increasingly dominating global containerized cargo transport. The expanded channel will also accommodate larger cruise ships.An estimated amount of 1.5 million cubic meters of mainly sand and clay material will be removed with a trailing suction hopper dredger and a large backhoe dredger.
