Lukoil Sets up Ship-to-ship Russian Oil Loadings Near Kaliningrad
Russia's second-largest oil producer Lukoil has set up ship-to-ship (STS) loadings of Urals oil near the western port of Kaliningrad, Refinitiv Eikon data showed and trading sources told Reuters on Wednesday.The data shows 100,000 tonnes of Urals crude was loaded on the Andaman Skies tanker at the Baltic port of Primorsk on Feb. 11.

Drifting Arctic Tankship Gets Icebreakers Escort
The “Nordvik”, which had been drifting in remote Arctic waters following a collision with an ice floe, is now being accompanied by icebreakers to its home port, reports the 'Barents Observer'. Citing the Russian Sea and River Transport Agency, Barents Obsever says that a total of 1800 litres of diesel oil was transferred from the “Nordvik” into the tanker “Boris Vilkitsky”. The two vessels are now accompanied by two nuclear-powered icebreakers, the “Taymyr” and the “Vaigach”, out of the Matisen strait, bound for the tankship's home port of Khatanga.

LR to Class Double-Acting Shuttle Tankers
A pair of 70,000 dwt double-acting ice-class shuttle tankers ordered at Admiralty Shipyards in St Petersburg for year-round service between the Pechora Sea and Murmansk are to be dually classed by Lloyd’s Register and Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS). Sevmorneftegaz (wholly owned by Gazprom), Sovcomflot and Admiralty Shipyards have signed a trilateral contract for the building of the two Arctic shuttle tankers. The vessels will transport oil from the Prirazlomnoye oil field in the Pechora Sea and are due for delivery in 2008. The principles of co-operation for dual classification by Lloyd’s Register and RS were formally agreed between the two societies at RS’ St Petersburg headquarters earlier this year.
