The White House announced President Biden's appointment of former Milwaukee port director, Adam Tindall-Schlicht, as the next Administrator of the Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (GLS). U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx today administered the oath of office to former U.S. Congresswoman Betty Sutton who becomes the tenth Administrator of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC). “We are pleased to welcome Betty Sutton to the Department as the new Administrator of the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation,” said SLSDC Deputy Administrator Craig H. Middlebrook. “She brings a wealth of experience from her years of service at the city, county, state and federal levels of government.

Sutton Great Lakes Legislator of the Year

Congresswoman Betty Sutton (D-OH) was named 2010 Great Lakes Legislator of the Year by a labor/management coalition representing workers and industries dependent on shipping on the Great Lakes. Rep. Sutton, who represents Ohio’s 13th District in the House of Representatives, will formally receive the award from Great Lakes Maritime Task Force (GLMTF) in Washington on February 4.
