Norwind Offshore Expands Fleet with Versatile Offshore Wind Support Vessel

Norwind Offshore, an offshore vessel company formed in late 2021 by Norway's Farstad, Volstad, and Kleven to be focused purely on offshore wind, has taken delivery of the first of four Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs) built by Vard. The delivery ceremony took place Monday, in Ålesund, on the west coast of Norway. The naming ceremony was attended by representatives of Norwind Offshore, as well as from Vard, various suppliers and business partners.“This is a red-letter day for us,” said Norwind Offshore’s CEO, Svein Leon Aure.

Green Yard Kleven Lands Another Retrofit Project with Brazilian Offshore Vessel Owner

Norwegian shipyard Green Yard Kleven AS has secured a retrofit project with Brazilian offshore vessel owner Oceanica.This is the fourth contract signed with the same shipowner that includes the reactivation and rebuilding of offshore ships bought from Norwegian shipowners.The vessel, named Oceanicasub X, is a 78-meter anchor handling vessel which will be rebuilt for operations off the coast of Brazil. The vessel has already arrived at Green Yard Kleven.The contract comes after the recent delivery of Oceanicasub VIII and Oceanicasub IX from the same shipowner, Brazilian Oceanica.

Green Yard Kleven to Refit Two Oceanica PSVs

Green Yard Kleven in Norway said it has signed a contract with Brazilian shipowner Oceanica to convert two platform supply vessels (PSV) for operations with remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV) and offshore crane.The two ships, both Marin Teknikk MT6009 design, have recently been purchased by Oceanica. One is already at Green Yard Kleven, and the other will arrive at the shipyard in the next few days. The retrofit is scheduled to be completed toward the end of the year, and work will start immediately.After the conversion, the ships will operate in Brazil in deep water.

Solstad Sells PSV Normand Corona

Solstad Rederi AS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Norwegian-based offshore shipowner Solstad Offshore ASA, has sold the platform supply vessel (PSV) Normand Corona.The 85.65-meter-long Normand Corona was built at Kleven Verft in 2006.The vessel was handed over to its new owner on June 14, 2022.Solstad said the sale will result in a "minor positive accounting effect" to be reflected in the second quarter of 2022.

Norwind Offshore Takes Delivery of Norwind Breeze Vessel

Norwind Offshore, a Norwegian offshore wind-focused vessel owner has taken delivery of its first vessel - the Norwind Breeze - from Vard.The delivery took place Monday at 1 p.m. local time from Vard, Brattvåg, in Norway. Before the conversion, the service operation vessel used to be a platform supply vessel, previously known as MMA Responder.The vessel arrived in Norway in November 2021 where the rebuilding and outfitting process started.The vessel has been equipped with, among other, a larger and modernized accommodation (60 pax), and a large battery power system to reduce emissions.

DeepOcean, Østensjø Rederi Strike New Charter Deal for Subsea Construction Vessel Edda Freya

Subsea services provider DeepOcean and the Norwegian offshore vessel owner Østensjø Rederi have agreed for Østensjø's Edda Freya vessel to remain with DeepOcean for longer, on a new 2-year charter.“We are pleased that we have come to an agreement with DeepOcean for Edda Freya, a vessel that was designed together with and has been on contract with DeepOcean since delivery in 2016. We are satisfied with the terms and our long and solid relationship with DeepOcean.” says Kristian Vea, CEO of Østensjø Rederi.Edda Freya is a hybrid-powered construction vessel suited for worldwide operations.

Danish investment fund Navigare Capital Partners will become a shareholder in Norwind Offshore, an offshore wind-focused vessel company established in Norway in 2021.Navigare Capital Partners specializes in investments in maritime assets. Norwind Offshore, a recently established offshore wind services firm in Norway, has awarded VARD contracts for the design and construction of two additional Commissioning Service Operations Vessels (CSOVs).Norway's Farstad, Volstad, and Kleven in October 2021 teamed up and formed Norwind Offshore, a company focused purely on offshore wind. ConocoPhillips Extends Solstad PSV Trio

Three Solstad Offshore platform supply vessels (PSV) have secured new contracts with energy company ConocoPhillips Skandinavia, the Norwegian offshore vessels owner announced on Thursday.Normand Server, Normand Supporter and Normand Fortune, each on charter with ConocoPhillips Scandinavia since 2018, have been extended to continue support activities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.The new contracts will start in direct continuation of current firm periods, and keep the vessels fully utilized to Q1/Q2 2027.The three vessels were built from 2011 through 2013 at Norwegian yards (Normand Fortune at Kleven and Normand Supporter and Normand Server at Vard Langsten) and range from 85.6 to 94.2 meters in length. Each is fitted with battery-hybrid systems in addition to shore power.

Offshore vessel operator Rem Offshore has selected Vessel Insight from Kongsberg Digital to collect vital data from its three new offshore wind vessels, currently under construction.The first vessel will be completed at Green Yard Kleven in November, while the other two are under construction at Vard, with completion in 2023 and 2024, respectively.By installing the infrastructure service Vessel Insight, Rem Offshore will collect data from the vessels and enable the use of applications to optimize operations. Solstad Offshore Sells Seven Vessels for Recycling

Solstad Offshore has won a contract for the construction support vessel Normand Tonjer.The Norwegian offshore vessel owner said the new two-year firm contract would keep the vessel busy until October 2023. James Fisher Sells Dive Support Vessel to Seamec

UK-based offshore services provider James Fisher and Sons has agreed to sell its dive support vessel [Subtech] Paladin.The company has sold the DSV to the Indian offshore services provider Seamec for $17.3 million."This announcement is in line with the Group's newly stated capital allocation policy to reduce leverage, in the short term, through the sale of non-core assets," James Fisher said.The 104 meters long vessel, previously known as Toisa Paladin was built by Kleven in 2008. Siem Offshore's Anchor Handler Secures Charter Extension in Australia

Norwegian offshore vessel owner Siem Offshore has been awarded a six-month extension for the AHTS Siem Topaz in Australia. Siem Offshore shared the news on Wednesday, without disclosing the identity of the client.The Siem Topaz is a low emission anchor handler that is suitable for anchor handling, deep water inspection, and construction work. Rem Offshore's Platform Supply Vessel Hired for Offshore Wind Work

Norwegian offshore vessel operator Rem Offshore has said its platform supply vessel Rem Trader has been awarded a contract in the offshore wind sector.Rem Offshore said in a social media post on Friday that the vessel - delivered in 2012, and formerly known as Brage Trader- had won a campaign contract for 2021 and 2022 with the Dutch offshore services company Van Oord. Under the contract, the platform supplier, which has for years worked in the oil and gas industry, will be deployed at the French offshore wind farm project Saint Brieuc, operated by Iberdrola's subsidiary Ailes Marines.The Saint-Brieuc offshore wind farm will be equipped with 62 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines, each with an 8 MW capacity, installed in a 75-square-km area.
